I thought since 343 said there will be rewards at the end of each season on your Arena gametype rank placements, that there might of been a reward for you depending on the rank you received in Shotty Snipers over the weekend?

I’m not sure that’s what he was talking about but it makes sense. All the other maptypes don’t have a special reward right now and there’s no sense in making it a special reward, overall since the fact that it is only available for this one weekend.
That means only the hardcore gamers could even qualify for a reward. Highter xp is more than enough.

You can still view your rank for the playlist in your Waypoint service record.
Thats because it was a double xp weekend playlist, all the original ones, basically all of the ones apart from that you will be getting rewards, your reward for that was the double xp…
I completed my shotgun, sniper, multikill, and headshot commendations in this weekend game type good reward imo

The rankings were implemented in these playlists so that people play other people on the same skill level. You have to make sure people don’t get discouraged because of the unbalanced teams facing each other. You don’t want Onyx ranked players in other playlists face Gold level players in shotty snipes.

I’m a proponent of keeping things fair, but it’s a good question whether or not this is effective.
I found that the steady stream of people doing placement games all weekend long ended up in game after game with large skill mismatches. A few days isn’t enough time sort the population.
