No Regret?

So I’m assuming we’re at the end of all the leaders being released. And one thing I noticed was, of the 6 leaders from HW1, 5 made it to the HW2. I’m counting the brute chieftain as decimus and atriox because they’re equal to him. But we never got the Prophet. I know he was a pain in the -Yoink- to deal with in the first game but I mean, it would of been fitting for him to be the last covenant leader. The cleansing is real

I hope he returns, maybe even Mercy since he literally has nothing unique about him so he’d be memorable, because the other two prophets are definitely more well known than Mercy, but I would like Regret just as much as a leader.

Either of the Prophets I’d be alright with. I know the popular majority want the grunt leader, but I mean, to pay homage to the most annoying character aside from cloaked arbiter, they should of put him in.

I have a strong feeling that YapYap will fill the role of “prophet”. He has Regret’s crown (I’m pretty sure) and everything. Probably like a Banished religious leader to keep grunts in line or something.

I was thinking the same thing. The Yap Yap looks like he might be similar to regret. Hopefully he brings the goblins.

I’m not sure that yapyap would fill the role of regret because unless he can fly, I’m not sure they can make a replacement for regret. You could have regret have a power that like Jerome can drop Spartans, have regret drop honor guards with swords and fuel rods. The cleaning beam could come back with a power elites can have more shielding or if they go a brute escort like the prophet truth has in halo 3 and 2 have a brute escort that drops in. They could do more things that would be more badass than say a grunt leader. A grunt leader to the casual halo fan sounds more funny than badass. The prophets were heavy handed and could literally beam planets to glass.

Unless they throw a major curveball and throw in the prophet as one of the 2 new leaders in ATN

The Prophet was easily the worst leader in HW1. I don’t miss him.

Nah son. He was litty lit lit. Buzzing around and killing a building here and there. The PTSD is real

Why bring back old dead leaders. Make something new and original. Im glad he’s not back. I bought halo wars 2 not halo wars 1

I want regret so we can have vampires and a air hero

He has truths crown I believe

They already confirmed that YapYap has his “Throne of Woe” which, coupled with him seemingly wearing a prophet’s crown, makes it likely he’ll fly like Regret. As for a grunt leader not being badass enough, did you even read the update?! His ultimate is dropping not one, not two, but three (3!) grunt goblins!!! If you’ve played Halo 5 then you know those things aren’t a joke. His Methane Wagon and Brute Riders give off an epic Mad Max vibe and the Heavy Grunts are martial arts knowing, fuel rod wielding, cyborgs! And finally, what can possibly be more frightening than an endless horde of grunts falling from the sky??? Honestly, this seems like the most well thought out, badass leader we’ve ever had.

I loved the Prophet in HW1. That said, I’m happier to have YapYap. Some of the best leaders are the ones who are new.

Just because they are Jiralhanae doesn’t mean they are the same as the Chieftain. That’s like saying Shipmaster is a replacement for Arbiter because they are both Elites.

The same goes with Cutter and Anders. Yes, they are back. But that’s expected when they actually survive the first game. They really should not be counted in this, especially when they’ve been changed so heavily. Anders went from a hero who’s focused on cryo and faster research time to a specialist in Forerunner tech. Cutter’s the only one who’s really the same and even then, he lost the MAC and ODSTs are very limited now.

Forge and Cutter are really the only two leaders from the first game who have a similar playstyle to how they did in the first game.

I agree. IMO bringing back old leaders was a mistake.

It can be done well! If we’re talking about bringing the character in the essence of their gameplay, no, maybe a hero that plays like the one we remember, but not an exact copy, come on guys, haha!
Aren’t we here to see what good and fun Ideas that 343 has to pit us with?
I mean, Jerome technically had a callback to HW1 with his 3 spartans, that was pretty cool.
Arbiter came back in the flesh, but they changed him around, and for the better.
Serina came back and brought Anders’s Cryo Bomb again, and turned it into an entire leader, that was pretty cool.

I will say it’s kind’ve a missed opportunity to add both Grunt Goblins, and YapYap in his own chair.
But let’s be serious, do we really want the EXACT same hero we played in Halo Wars 1? Like just a carbon copy? Think on that for a second if there’s a disagreement.

LoL.

Wheels

As much as I want the prophet, I’m not sure an airborne hero is a good idea after all the problems that vehicle heros have caused.
