No Reason To Play Anymore=(

There is no reason to play halo 4 anymore,
I’ve ranked up completely, really no point in getting commendations since I’ve ranked up, it’s not like anyone sees the progress like they could in Reach,
I’ve beat the campaign, played spartan ops, and the game has only been out a little over 3 months…I’m bored with it.

I’m sure 343 couldn’t care less though=\

Looking at my service record, it says I’ve played a total of 9 days 16 hours…and I have 15,000 kills/9,000 deaths,

In Halo reach my rank was a Reclaimer,
That game I played a total of:31 days 9 hours, 65,000 kills,

It’s just a shame that there is no effort to have the highest rank in halo 4…

sad people need “incentives” to actual play games now a days. I miss the golden days of gaming when people just played the game because they enjoyed playing it not because the were given things for playing.

Just wondering what ever happened to playing for fun?

It is evident that games are in a sad state when people cannont play a game without needing to get rewarded for playing…

I remember playing zelda: link to the past over and over for the fun of it. Not so I could show off my stats.
It’s too bad how spoiled this generation is.

This is the most basic level of Economics. Incentives keep people doing things for longer, it makes you want to play and have fun.

Bored of the oh-so-exciting Matchmaking?
How about playing a nice game of Jeng-oh, right
Maybe you could try playing one of those one-life splatter game-oh, whoops
Well, maybe you-

Yeah.

You need incentives to have fun? I thought having fun was the incentive to play games.

You need some friends to play online with OP

Seriously

I play for fun.

Not for a rank that means nothing.

Everyone that has posted on this thread so far is ridiculous… ^^^^

If you went into halo 3 and they took out experience, armor, rank, and earned skill levels. it would be pretty demoralizing to play. sure, i would still play without incentives. but lets be real here. this game is not that great when there is nothing to play for. this game is barely that great even when there IS something to play for.

I am with you.

But to other people, they like too…

Play for the fun… Of getting their rank.

Current Spartan Ranks mean nothing at all. Skill ranks like Halo 3 have meaning, and some people really miss them along with the feeling of accomplishment that comes with raising your highest skill.

I play to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

You should try it, it’s nice…

You sure about that? Completing commendations can get you some very cool stuff…like BREACH! Everyone can see that once you put it on your service card. So many people are envious of me right now.

> I’m sure 343 couldn’t care less though=\

Actually I think most people on this forum couldn’t care less…

This forum needs less of that noise and more of these posts, please:

Then why was Halo CE so popular and lasted so long?

Why is golden eye considered one of the all time greatest shooters?

Those two games had no ranking, no online capability built in (excluding xbox connect for ce), no commendations, no progressive ranking system.

EXP from Commendations may not count towards your rank since you are level cap, but they still provide a reward upon completing them, which as armor and skins.

I’m max rank and I have a blast playing with friends. I don’t need to constantly have a progressive or skilled rank accumulate for me to remain with the game. To each their own, I guess.

Thats flawed logic. It’s not that the game isnt that great, its that todays generation of gamers are so spoiled and have to have digital numbers to boost an ego otherwise there is no reason to play.

Some of the greatest games of the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s had no online, no rank, no skill levels, no unlocks and uncountable hours of replayability because we enjoyed them and had fun playing them.

Why was doom so popular? Why was golden eye so popular? Why was CE so popular? Tony Hawk? Mario Cart?

Todays gamers look at gaming more as a chore/work instead of entertainment/game. They have to be rewarded for playing a game otherwise they have no reason to play.

Ever heard of playing a game purely for fun?

I still find it curious that CE is heralded as arguably the most competitive Halo to date and it had no ranks or progression systems at all.

Just the pure fun of competition between friends on splitscreen or LAN. Too bad the online gaming community will never achieve or return to this state of gaming IMO.

Best to play any online game with friends as much as possible.
