Obviously this isn’t going to change anything but I just thought I’d let my voice be heard in the off-chance that one of the 343i guys reads this.
When Reach came out I was absolutely crushed. The incredibly competitive aspect of Halo that I had spent a large majority of my free time in my high school years learning had been thrown aside. Halo had become COD. For years I was praying that the next Halo game would come and triumphantly return the series to its former glory. I had high hopes for Halo 4…hoping it would bring the multiplayer back to its competitive roots. Instead we are getting Reach 2.0 where “YAY EVERY1 IS WINN3R DON"T WORRY BOUT W1NNING HAV3 S0mE cR3DitS FOR YOUR EFFORT!1!” For this reason alone, I will not be buying Halo 4. I want to play Halo…not CowAdoody Spartan barbie dress up.

Actually 343i still gets the money. They sell it to the distributers (Walmart, bestbuy, gamestop, etc…) It’s the distributer that doesn’t get the profit of your purchase.
That’s how games are sold. you don’t buy if from 343i, 343i makes the game.
But yes your argument is valid and is understanding, not trollish and annoying. If you say you played it since CE, CE didn’t have ranks, it was about the fun you had. isn’t that what should count?

Halo Reach didn’t play anywhere even close to COD.
Halo 2 and Halo 3 had an amazing success. Why? Because they catered to the needs of everyone. Sometimes us competitive players wan’t to mess around and have fun in non ranked game. Or maybe a casual player feels like a challenge and hops in to test their skill against the world. This is why Halo Reach was a disaster, only a select few enjoyed the game and kept playing. There was no incentive to keep playing. Testing your skill against others is the fun we have in games. Halo 4 needs a system to please all types of players.
Really another one of these threads… Sigh… Ok heres a concept alot of these players can’t seem to grasp 343 has stated there will be a rank system it just wont be visible. You say you played since CE? Hey guess what it had no rank system and was an amazing game. I’m glad to be a competative player but this past week you people have made these forums a joke and I actually feel dissappointed with the competative community because they seem to be able to not adapt to changes. This is sad. I honestly don’t get how having a couple numbers by your name makes you feel so good about yourself.
Theres probably 5 threads on first page regarding the rank system and it’s sickening. I mean has the gaming community gone so low that if theres no rank system then it’s no money towards a game? What happened to just playing the game and enjoying it just like how Halo: CE was? In all seriousness just go. Im sure 343i’s intentions, while creating the game, was to appease to the 100 people whining over a non visible rank system. You will not be missed I guarantee that.
