343 is killing a good game by just creating a non competitive atmosphere. The in game join ruins any sort of feeling of competitive gameplay. YOU SHOULDN’T continue getting paired with the same people and YOU SHOULDN’T have to deal with 3 or more people quitting each match. Everyone treats the gametypes as though they were socials in halo 3. Ranked gametypes and “quit penalties” encourage players to finish matches. On halo 4, there is absolutely no reason to not quit if you are getting slaughtered. People just need a goal to strive for that represents their skill. The ranking also just visually organizes the skill level of players. In my opinion, the awesomeness of armor and loadouts gets old quick. Halo 2 and halo 3 had booster issues but did people play the game…I think so. Socials and ranked give everyone the best of both worlds. If you just want to relax, have fun, and not be a “try hard”, socials is where you go. If you want to play in a highly competitive serious mode, you have ranked. The argument that you can’t stop boosters and derankers is just dumb and lazy. It can be done.
