No Radar slayer plays beautifully

It looks as though with the update to the Infinity Slayer playlist we’ve got some slayer pro gametypes thrown into the mix now.

There are many benefits with Slayer Pro but the main one has to be no radar. It seemed like whenever you’re in a stand-off position with someone around a corner, the loser tends to be the one who tried to push the action by having a nade blow up in their face the second they turn said corner.

Slayer Pro removes the ‘radar grenade’ and allows for more map movement and faster gameplay. Maps like Adrift, Shutout & Solace really benefit from it. Anyone else notice how much better it is?

Good job 343, keep it up.

At this point, 343i should just change the names of the playlists to Team Slayer and Big Team Battle because it’s not just infinity slayer anymore.

It’d be nice if there wasn’t a radar in Flood.

I’ve only played ‘pro’ one game so far but it was awesome!

I agree, and flood definatley needs more gametypes.

Slayer Pro is definitely a nice change of pace. Faster, a bit more frentic, but also easier to outsmart your opponents thanks to no radar … or get outsmarted; depends on the opponent, really.

I’m not quite sure if I wanted to play only Slayer Pro, but I definitely want to play it more often.

I like the radar.

As nice as that sounds, I could really do without Zombie Ghosts

i like the lack of armor abilities and radar on slayer pro, but i miss the load outs. i like having a variety of weapons and not always knowing what my opponent will have.

the radar definitely leads to camping and standing down. people always talk about the core of halo and what halo is supposed to be and to me camping and standing down is the exact opposite of what halo is supposed to be.

I have had the opposite experience. Not a single one of the Slayer Pro 4v4 games I played last night - including on Haven, of all places - ended before time expired.

Not one.

Every single Infinity game ended before time expiring.

Perhaps at higher levels, Pro makes gameplay faster. But at my level, it does precisely the opposite.

Haha me too lol :’)

I love Slayer Pro. It feels like a more engaging experience. I pay more attention to what’s actually going on (listening to footsteps, direction of gun fire etc) rather than staring at the MT. It allows you to flank opponents far more effectively and you can get flanked yourself - it’s more tactical. I prefer it over Infinity lottery. Also, there are no Boltshot/AC campers!

All no radar has ever done in my experience is make players more back smack happy.

I hate slayer now because without the radar I’m getting killed every second.

I’m with you there.
A lot of players would probably call us bad because the radar is our crutch. But I see nothing wrong with using something built into the game.

BTB Slayer Pro in general is so much fun. I only played one game of it on Exile and two on Longbow so far and I’m already addicted.
That’s one step closer to having a truly great big team playlist. All we need now are the addition of objectives to it…

I like the no radar…have to actually look around and be alert. Also since people can’t choose plasma pistol or plasma grenades in their loadouts…vehicles last longer…except the Ghost…Ghost takes about 2 full clips from the Carbine to be destroyed.

Yeah, no radar is great, but I’d like a bit more weapon variety… it might be cool to give each loadout its faction’s side weapon counterpart (instead of just the pistol for every one), or add in a fifth loadout that has the assault rifle.

It’s really just me nitpicking. I’ve never liked precision weapons and have always tried not to use them.

For me its fun to play without MT SOMETIMES. But most of the time I want my MT because that’s how I learned to play the game. Also I find it annoying to constantly look behind me to avoid things like assassinations, or having to look around every single corner or crate or whatever is big enough to hide some camper.

I vote for a variant of Salyer Pro with just MT added… I believe there’s a name for such a thing…

I played it on Scythe last night and it worked well to allow flanking without revealing your position. players who are more aware of their surroundings and map layout should do better.
