Im assuming from the fact we have not seen any promethian weapons in any trailers or in gameplay especially during the halo infinite flight that there wont be promethians in the main campaign anymore?!.. this worries me that they may have just dropped them out of the story which would be crazy considering they have been the main enemy throughout halo 4 and 5… to just not have them in halo infinite seems like it would just be lazy especially considering Cortana was using them and the guardians in halo 5! As much as i hated the story in halo 5 id rather they weren’t just dropped as it would make no sense! Whats peoples opinion on this?!
Heatwave says hello? It’s not a human or banished weapon, and I don’t think it’d work well with a sentinel.
Isn’t the Heatwave promethean? The description of the gun mentions prometheans if I’m not mistaken.

Yet they made them the worst in Halo’s history to fight against. They need to redesign it all IMO. The worst part of Halo recently has been the Prometheans. The weapons are boring visually and they don’t feel like Halo when using them.

Well they did say we only had a small amount of weapons for the flight. The Disruptor, Shock Rifle, and Mangler weren’t in it. Maybe it’s possible the Heatwave is the Scattershot replacement, and they didn’t want to show off the other ones yet.

Most of the Promethean guns were the worst ones in the series. None of them truly felt like Halo weapons IMO
I was thinking it was a relic from humanity’s height of technology during their war with the Forerunners. At least that would sound more interesting than just another Promethean weapon, and maybe Zeta Halo will offer lore into that era.

Fighting prometheans in H5 was more fun than their designs in H4 by a wide margin. I think if they just iterate on some of the changes they made from H4->H5, the Prometheans will fit right in.

They need to co very lore more effectively.

Sentinels return as they are with the option to combine a la ghosts of onyx to form enforcers or even a redesigned phaeton that yes you can board. Prometheans also assemble and spawn via a swarm that builds them as we fight.The Prometheans take the 4 approach of supporting knights. But knights retain their 5 bulk and limb loss.
Obviously they are redesigned to look more like classic Sentinels and monitors.Knights have a light rifle type or incineration canon type.
The LR type has its blade melee telegraphed straight line teleport, the IC type uses a grav hammer arm and is built for anti tank with a telegraphed teleport jump and ground pound.Watchers(1) still exist and use shields to guard any Knight that it is connected to via a hard light umbilical cord.
“Speakers”(2) a watcher variant use a push back “screams” and can give a damage boost to knights.
“Listeners”(3) can camo knights and deflect grenades.
Now each watcher type only counters one part of the triangle of weapons, melee and grenades.
Allowing for more varied combat and player agency.
Leaving these active to revive a Knight is now a risk reward system.
Killing one while in the revival animation drops a power up
- Overshield 2. Damage boost 3. Camo. Each is readily distinguishable and colour coded, a hologram denotes when and what variant is carried by a knight.Soldiers now come as binary snipers who teleport after shots you can opt to aim for them or where the hologram shows they will be next. they can send crawlers to push you from cover,
The suppressor types stay near to knights sometimes jumping on grenades or acting as body shields.
If you take out a knight’s limb it can scream like in 5 for a one shot head shot opportunity but this will cause a near-by soldier to dismantle and replace the lost limb and health.
and a “new dead space shotguner” marshel they move slow like a roman Legion in front of knights but if they get close drop turrets and try to rush you.Crawlers come in 3 types
Alpha: leads a pack in an organised manner to pincer the player. Has a suppressor
Beta: is on the flanks of each pack. Uses bolt shot. If singled out and backed into corner enters a telegraphed charged shot lunge animation.
Grunt: no weapon just melee.
If the alpha is taken out the pack goes into a wall running disorganised frenzy and attack independently.
Leaving packs whole can work to your advantage if you have a spnkr or fuel rod or enough range to pick off most the herd with a ranged weapon.Promethean Sentinels
Essentially halo2 ranger elites but with a soldier like appearance with personal bubble shields and Promethean Sentinel beams.
they can turn crawlers into Sentinels and their jet(antigrav)packs can be shot off to make them grounded.
if they take enough damage in air to lose all limbs they convert into one of the watcher trio.All prometheans now explode and have electricity feedback when killed and damaged.
Headshots cause the composer effect they have now to make it a visual reward.Also to have moments where knights lose their orange glow and turn blue/green and “cry” as they recognise people from their lives on new alexandria would be amazing. Adding some depth to the faction and makes killing the Prometheans more weighted.
Imagine a Knight trying to wake up a corpse or even defend certain marines from banished or the bodies from being flood infected.
The screams having faint modulated speech under it to remind us what they really are and who they were. Perhaps some drop “memory fragments” if you touch them you hear moments of dialogue from their prior lives as humans.
Also rename soldiers to pawns and have them be simple war ancilla
prometheans have way more potential than banished in my opinion.

It was better however still the weakest point IMO. I would like them to redesign them completely.
I think the Heatwave is supposed to be a Promethean weapon. It functions similarly to the Scattershot, and it looks like a Forerunner weapon.
I’ve honestly really disliked the copy paste promethian weaponry in 343’s Halos, so I’m hoping we don’t see the light rifle, suppressor, scattershot, etc since they’re just yellow energy versions of the BR/DMR, AR/SMG, and Shotgun. Not super interesting and have no place in the sandbox imo. I really want to see some more unique banshed weapons, the skewer and ravager are already unique and awesome imo.
Just to be clear i also did not enjoy fighting promethians or using there weapons in halo 4 and 5 but i do hope there in infinite for sake of the story… i also was not aware the heatwave was officially classed as a promethian weapon… hopefully like some of you have suggested there might be more but 343 have been keeping it quiet for now
Honestly I think 343 took some notes on the forerunner direction and the heatwave is looking like more of an organic in-universe forerunner inspired gun than the Promethean weapons did.

Majority of the community despises them. I highly doubt there gonna be in the game.

No they weren’t in CE, 2 and 3 but Cortana is there leader now and they were all over in halo 5 traveling to diffirent planets especially the gaurdians who she was using to chase the infinity… thats why it would make sense and be crazy of them to just cut all that out the story all of a sudden and yes i hated them aswell but im hoping they dont make another mess of the story like halo 5 and just change loads without explanation in the games or continue to go down a very bad story line like halo 5
