Seriously, it’s ridiculous if there aren’t any in the game. It feels lazy, with all due respect.
I don’t know what’s going on or why we’ve not seen a shred of evidence there’re any forerunner vehicles in multi or campaign- maybe 343’s serious about keeping that wrapped up till launch for some reason-- but if it’s true there aren’t any in the game, I mean there’s just no excuse.
For one, people need to STOP with the fanboy desperate justification of WHY vehicles can’t/shouldn’t be in the Promethian arsenal. That’s nonsense. We’ve seen all kinds of forerunner craft in various halo media, and it would be easy as pie to justify a Promethian vehicle(s) being in Halo 4. “Knights can teleport”? Dude, stop. We’re not talking about transportation, we’re talking about war. If Prometheans have a reason to have various sized guns, they have a reason to have some REALLY BIG guns that move and require mounting/piloting. So stop trying to use Halo lore to justify that this a disappointment and an upset.
Secondly, making them would be EASY. Judging by how simplistic the Prom. guns are, I can’t blame it on lack of time or creative juices. Seriously all the weapons look so much alike and their functions are so basic that it doesn’t make sense nobody just drew up a couple concepts of a silvery angular hovercraft or walker or anything and just slapped on them an oversized “Supressor”/“Incineration Cannon”, whatever. They should’ve just painted over the Mantis and made it Promethean. Mechs don’t belong in the UNSC anyway.
I just get it. Microsoft gave 343 a blank check, and they made such a big deal about this “new faction” with their own weapons, 'nades, and Spartan-equivalent soldiers-- Why the hell wouldn’t they spend an ounce of resources throwing in a Promethean vehicle?
what about a promethean flying disc?
Maybe they don’t need vehicles to get around?
but but but…we have the praymantis!
They can teleport…they don’t need vehicles.
I like the Promethean weapons designs and the Mantis, while it would be cool to see some Pro vehicles I understand why there arent. Maybe in a spartan ops mission who knows.
> They can teleport…they don’t need vehicles.
This
Halo 4’s weapon set is great, but the vehicle set is extremely lacking. The Mantis is going to end up like the Halo 3 Hornet.
Sentinels could do with their own ships as well, for, you know - when they get tired.
I know you think it would be “cool” and that 343i are selling out if they don’t make a reskinned revenant for you but you must know this: They have absolutely no need for vehicles, they can teleport anywhere on requiem with ease.
Prometheans are designed to phase in and out of places quickly and efficiently. There’s no need. And come on, would the lack of usable UNSC flying vehicles really make a difference? Both Halo 3 and Reach made little use of the UNSC flying vehicles anyway and Halo 4 is bringing us the Mantis, a whole new vehicle type that can be used across most of the game’s maps unlike the Hornet/Falcon’s one or two maps on a specific gametype.
> I was disappointed by the lack of new vehicles as well. Halo 4’s weapon set is great, but the vehicle set is extremely lacking.
true, i was looking forward to a more larger sandbox
I’m inclined to agree with the OP on this. However, I feel the reason there are no Promethean vehicles is because they got cut due to the amount of new content already in the game and wanted to save some new stuff for Halo 5. Even though the lack of new vehicles is disappointing, I’m more peeved that there are only 3 Promethean enemy types. I know there are plenty of variants but its not the same as having an entirely different enemy altogether.
Well, what exactly would Promethean vehicles really bring to the table? Covenant vehicles are reversed-engineered from Forerunner ones after all.
Considering the fact that the Promethean forces seem to be robots controlled by ancillas (possibly formed from slain Prometheans), I imagine that any “mobile heavy weapons” that they added would be attached to larger robots, not vehicles.
Seriously, there’s no reason for an army of automatons to have vehicles. Anything vehicle-like would just be controlled by an ancilla, and thus wouldn’t need a cockpit. In fact, a cockpit would simply be a security risk, since it would only be used by non-Promethean forces. If there are living Forerunners in Halo 5 or 6, I could see vehicles, but they simply don’t make any sense in Halo 4.
I swear nobody here actually reads original posts. Is anyone here over 18? This is driving me crazy.
To all the people claiming that the prometheans can teleport, and thus don’t need vehicles, I ask you this:
Do our military forces nowadays use heavy tanks, mobile artillery, etc. just for transportation?
NO. They use them for heavy firepower, and currently, NONE of the knights we’ve seen so far could ever stand toe-to-toe with a tank or wraith. Heck, even a gauss-hog could take them out with ease. Sure, they can teleport around that tank all they want, but that doesn’t help if they can’t actually directly engage them.

Even the ones armed with the Incinerator Cannons? -_-
> No Promethean Vehicles = UNACCEPTABLE
Think about the Supressors attached to Knights. Sometimes they’re NOT suppressors. Sometimes Knights are probably holding Binary Rifles, right? Surely. That’s just a BIGGER GUN than the Suppressor. If Knights have a valid reason to upgrade from a machine gun to a heavy ranged rifle, why wouldn’t they sometimes upgrade from a heavy rifle to a big mobile weapon?
Also stop with the “Promethean tech is too powerful” thing. If 343 can write up a reason the Scattershot is only as powerful as a shotgun then obviously its the same reason as why a Forerunner vehicle wouldn’t be overpowered either.
