No pre-game or post-game lobbies is a big issue no one is addressing

Halo infinite has practically no lobbies whatsoever and this is not a good thing for either the game experience or the community as a whole.
One of the main enjoyments i had from any halo title was to be able to assess my team and opponents before a game begins - check out their armor and see their track record. I believe that is how players truly get to see one another in the game.
For infinite however, you’re just thrown into a game and don’t really have any interaction with the other players whatsoever. You can chat to your teammates but that’s as good as it gets, after that you are disbanded and you join the next lifeless lobby. There isn’t enough time to look at anything at all before a game starts…
Not giving the chance for players to interact with each other, vote for maps/modes and show off their identity in lobby totally hinders the player experience and furthermore just totally defeats the point of earning anything in the first place. Past titles had it spot on where you could just scroll down the page and see their spartan and progress etc etc. Infinites menus sort of places the spartan viewing page on the backburner and i think its a huge issue that needs changing. Viewing players spartan armor and service record should be front and centre… What’s the point in earning armor and cosmetics if no one even has time to look at them?
Lobbies overall in the 343 games have gone backwards and i feel its really limiting the game experience now more than ever, i hope they can make some serious changes in the future so that player identity and interaction in lobbies (including the map voting system) is brought back to being the main focus for community interaction.
Peace

I agree with this. This was a great thing for the community, really made Halo feel like a social event.

I agree with a post game lobby but games load so fast now that a pre game lobby would slow things down

Cant even send a friend request through the game.

Slowing things down would be for the better. We need pre game lobbies for multiple reasons. Checking your opponents stats, looking at fileshares, looking at everyones different armor setup, talking smack, etc. Games that just churn you in and out of matches feel like lifeless husks.

Some people just want to play the game. Especially people with limited time to play or who have an xp boost active. No reason to force it on players before amd slow everyone down when you can see it after.

The only reason I agree with is talking smack but party chats killed that a decade ago

This is valid, but I still think we need a pre-game lobby for map voting/veto. Or we need the match composer from MCC for social gametypes, that would be more ideal.

Completely disagree, we had party chat during H3 and Reach and 90% of matches people were using their mics in game.

Pre/Post game lobbies did so much for the social aspect of not just Halo but gaming as a whole.

It really is sad that they’re just slowly going away.

A lot of games in 2020’s are getting rid of game chat in general. It’s a biproduct of the era we live in and it won’t change until everyone starts to ignore the twitter and political crowds.

They could always boost XP per game similar to Halo5 instead of using time.

I like your point about no one having time to look at cosmetics. I feel like it touches on another under addressed point. One of the reasons the Hayabusa armor in H3 was so popular was, yes it looked cool, but more importantly you had to put in a lot of work to get the complete set. So when I saw someone with a complete set of that armor, I was impressed and it motivated myself to play the game more to get it for myself. I feel like that’s why we had samurai themed armor thrown at us at Halo Infinite’s launch because they thought we just really liked samurai themed armor. But what 343 seemingly doesn’t get is, when I see impressive armor now, my brain just thinks that individual had to spend x amount of dollars to get that armor. Which does not motivate me to play at all. And when I do see a cool item that someone got from completing the Ultimate Weekly Challenge, that doesn’t motivate me either as I have no opportunity now to obtain it. I rip through the battle pass in a few weeks time just to get maybe 1-5 out of a 100 things that I like. I find maybe 1-2 things in event passes appealing. And maybe once or twice over several months I find something appealing enough to get through the Ultimate Weekly Challenge. So for the most part, I’m never really motivated to play and on top of it, like OP said, no one really has anytime even to look at one another’s stuff.

Adding pre/post-game lobbies would also be good in helping address the reporting problem as I quite often have issues remembering names of the players I mean to report. I also have been wanting an in game report feature to make it easier to send reports so that instead of having to record footage and add it to your report it could be set up so that the report automatically contains a theater video for the moderators to view and review.

I agree. Bring them back!

I love the idea of a post game lobby.
For pre game lobby I’d love to see a veto option similar to Halo Reach where you see the game mode and map and can either veto it or not.

Yes. Totally with you on this one - especially the postgame lobby. When you’re chatting with teammates that time after allows you to socialise, stick around and allow matchmaking to run another game before friending, reverting back to the pre search lobby is such a big mistake.

Whole heartedly agree with the return of such an importent community feature. Some of my best friends i made was in H3 pre and post game lobbies.

The XP boost timer thing is toxic though in my opinion… the fact its depleting in game lobby is something that needs to change asap.

Totally agree, would love to see voice chat enabled by default again and party up brought back.

One of the big reasons I want post game lobbies is so that I can actually report players easier as 343 (and more over Microsoft) seem to have done everything they can to make reporting players incredibly difficult. Having a post game lobby would allow you to see who did what and give you a bit more evidence to send in a report.
