Obviously apart from the fact some of us are die-hard fans and LOVE halo.

After SR 70, there is no more progression, either in levels, or in access to specialisations. This is the same for EVEYONE in the EU.
f we do carry on playing, we waste XP awarded for comendations that would normally contribute to us leveling up.
If 343i need any evidence of how big of an issue this is, I would like to point out the CONSIDERABLE drop in EU players I have met through multiplayer since the begining of December, and though I am aware it will pick up as of today (Christmas), I beleive many potential players have been lost to the likes of Black ops 2 where their is no discrimination or obstruction in advancement of player abilities or characteristics purely because of locale.
If access is not granted to specializations and higher leveling within a couple of weeks, then you will also have lost those people playing as of today, who will also reach SR70, and see no point in contiuning. Halo is a game franchise that has a legacy because of the immense and immersive universe that Bungie created, and a BIG part of that universe was the fantastic multiplayer.
343i; you have not only managed to allow Halo to be outpaced by the likes of Black Ops 2 (for which specialisations and prestiege are available for ALL players); It alsmost appears as if you have allowed this to happen KNOWINGLY?
PLEASE do not allow OUR (the fans) much loved game franchise die out in the interests of either marketing or poor management - whichever is to blame - because as statistics roll in about who plays what, and Halo drops of the radar in the EU and UK, we worry this will affect the development of future titles.

Or you could just, oh I don’t know, play the game? I mean, if all you’re playing the game for is a number, there is dozens of points of information in the stat tracking. Of course, if all you’re playing for is a number, you need to re-assess why you’re playing the game in the first place and not studying to be an accountant.

Your talking complete trash, if you reach SR130 and there is to be no more leveling up then thats fine, you continue to play the game. However when you reach SR70 and stop leveling knowing you can still level up but more importantly get the extra specializations THAT GIVE YOU ADVANTAGES over anyone else on SR70 then thats a fundamental flaw in the game! Its totally irrelevant that you can continue the game for fun, its the FACT its a choice you can no longer make, its made for you if you choose to continue playing. This crap about stop moaning and just play for fun, OK why have any form of leveling up, lets have the game with no XP points or armour levels or specilizations that give u slight advantages. Would you play a game with none of this at all from the start? if not why? Why would you not play the game just for fun? You seem to think that you would! POINT being it should all be a fair game from the start! Its not the point of you can play it just for funm we all know you can, but why is it others can go further than that but others have to only view the game as “just for fun” when they hit SR70
Goes to show how bad this game really is, the fact that “playtime” ranks are why people are playing it, suggests that the gameplay really isn’t up to standard. This game was a major disappointment.
I have a feeling all the people telling them to play for fun are Americans with specialization codes. I’m an American with limited edition and I can feel their pain hitting max rank and being stuck at a rank are completely different. It makes you not want to waste xp because you know eventually you’ll get to rank up and also it makes you suffer from wanting what you can’t have. Admit it if the roles were reversed and all the UK people were ranking up and you were stuck at 70 you’d be mad too.
XP and everything associated with it is a part of most online gaming now, so we have no choice other than to be tied to it when playing our favourite games regardless of if we like it or not. I play Halo because I enjoy it not because of a number/rank next to my name and if at the point I do hit the rank of SR130 the number will mean nothing to me only the fact that I have completed the grind and every specialization/perk is available to me as it should be. I have not played Halo for 3 weeks now because I am part way through SR69 and because I live in the UK I will be capped once I hit SR70. People seem to think this means Im crying over my precious rank when in actual fact it means I dont want to keep playing and earn commendations worth 10,000XP only for it to count for nothing and make my tedious XP grind even longer. This is the point that people in the UK/EUROPE are complaing about and not some meaningless number. I was going to purchase the season pass for Halo but this scenario has soured my experience of the game, I will go back to Halo once I am able to progess past SR70 and will be happy once I get the whole XP grind out of the way so I can simply enjoy the game. Regardless of what anyone says, 343i messed up on this specialization farce and although some UK/EUROPEANS will return to Halo 4 and maybe even purchase DLC once the cap is lifted, there will be many who will not because of the way this thing has been handled. 343i will be thought of by many as a company with terrible customer relations.

I’m Dutch, paid 10 euros more than for the regular version…got all specializations and 45 euros worth of DLC for just 10 extra euros…Really, at 70 euros, that alone was worth buying the LE.
You guys aren’t going to seriously tell me you couldn’t find a retailer with similar low LE prices and afford to pay the extra 10 bucks…
That’s not saying Microsoft should definately fix this issue. Because you simply can’t give an entire continent half a game with the locked content visible to them all the time…
I think people are being a little harsh on the OP to be honest
He does have a point, its pretty crazy to have your online experience stopped because of your geographical location. I also understand the point of knowing that any XP from completed challenges, matches and commendations are simply being lost would also be annoying.
Playing the game for fun is great, but you have to put this issue into perspective. At no time before launch did 343i tell fans in the UK or EU that if they didnt buy the LE edition, or pre-order it from the only retailer in their area to get the early access bonus, that they would be level capped until early 2013
If they knew this was going to happen after planning their promotion which excluded the EU and UK regions from getting early access from just playing the game online, they should have made it so once capped, all commendations are frozen until the XP from them can be used
I see where the OP is coming from, playing a game but being restricted for no logical reason as well as knowing you are throwing away what you have earned XP wise would annoy me and possibly put me off playing it as well, deep down think we all would be the same

There is a big difference between being fully levelled up in a game to be maxed out and being capped in a game because you are being restricted for living in a particular country

Big whoop you wont get your xp. The only commendations worth getting xp for are the expert 4/5 or 6/7 ones. Other than that the others are worth 5000 max, you can get that in 2 games
Halo 3 I needed either another 800 or so wins to level up or 5 more true skill, back then I was around 12-14 years old and not that good. (I believe my true skill is either 35 or 40) Well i didnt just pack my bags and get off halo 3. Sure I wished there was a cod like ranking system (oh how I regret that) but I still played the game and had Fun.
And also, if you don’t want people missing the point of what you posting about, then don’t make the title in all caps and make people who read it angry… Though that is the only way to gain attention of the forums these days…

No difference at all, apart from the armour/skins/perks that you get access to that people locked at 70 do not.
@ RPK11 You play for fun but yet care about rank, surely your name should be pronounced ‘contradiction’. People who are capped at SR70 have commendations at 4/5 6/7 and you say its ok you can earn 5,000 in 2 games, maybe you can but people who are capped at SR70 guess what its wasted. Your ignorance is what makes me ignore you.
That really sucks. Goes to show you how incomplete this game really is. Sorry to say this, but 343i’s biggest customer is probably the US, which means we’re probably first priority. Its really sad, and if I were you, I wouldnt expect a fix anytime soon(Unless this January TU addresses it). Hang in there, man.

And I understand, if this was a game people played for fun, then this leveling up SR rank system wouldn’t be necessary. And yet it’s still in the game. (*facepalm)
