What’s point of forge if none of the maps get added to matchmaking?
Because some people use them for Custom Games and others just enjoy making stuff?
Look at it this way:
Why buy a massive tub of Lego bricks to make stuff with if what you make is never going to be sold in stores?
I know it’s a slightly extreme example, but the general principle is basically the same.
The simple act of making maps is fun. Even more fun when you play customs on those maps.
You ever heard of customs? And the community has had maps add to matchmaking to.

^^^yup. Breakout is like 70% forge made maps, btb is all forge made, infection is what 60-70% forge made? /'and arena 4v4s have some as well.
as others have said forge isn’t all about getting maps into matchmaking, and to be fair not everyone even likes forge mais making it to matchmaking (which I disagree with). Customs is all about forge maps as well and some forgers simply like to build stuff even if the map will never be played.
No point because it won’t be added to matchmaking? That wasn’t an issue with Halo 3, Reach, and 4… so why is that an issue now?
We need a forge playlist where we can play forge maps submitted somewhere. Of course some maps will be broken and a little dull, but some peoples maps can be noticed somewhere other than reddit / waypoint

Maybe in the forge / customs playlist you can vote.
Most voted have a high chance to be in matchmaking/ regular playlist.
Each arena mode will have a “play customs” option.
Your map can be submitted with mode specifications.

Way different. Millions of people could enjoy forge maps being added to matchmaking . And some of the maps look really good. It’s a shame that they don’t add forge maps.

Is it really that different?
What do people do with Lego bricks? Build stuff. Why do people build stuff with Lego bricks? Because they find it fun.
What do people do with Forge? Build stuff. Why do people build stuff with Forge? Because they find it fun.
Would people enjoy more Forge maps in matchmaking? Probably, yes.
Are Forge maps in matchmaking? Yes. Just look at Big Team Battle, Infection, and Community Action Sack.
Is Forge pointless because not all maps are going to be added to matchmaking? No.
When I go on Forge mode, it’s when I want to make something so I can play with my friends later. In fact, 80% of the time im in Forge, it’s with my friends. I find it fun to just mess around, spawning it crazy things and just plain messing around. Others like to do the same as well.
Forge= Therapy to make me forget that America will likely go to war against Russia, -as well as the loudmouth and the hardcore criminal, one of which will soon be running my country.

Halo has a great community of builders, better they be here than Minecraft imo. Because mine craft doesn’t have .50 caliber sniper rifles, explosives, or tanks.

And you really think most people here could make better maps? Doubt it. Most people aren’t skilled forgers, sorry, I mean “Cartographers”.

Have you ever played BTB? Every map is a forge map.
I make maps to play with my friends. I spend months making them, and when they’re finished I ask my friends to try the map and only find out that they all uninstalled it. ;(

I want to forge maps but feel it would be a waste of time cause they would never get played probably. I’ve had a few ideas for maps but I don’t know if they would be considered action sack material or a viable map else where.
When ever they set criteria for people to submit I’ve never seen it it’s not clear enough. It should be some thing shown in the message of the day.
to have fun in customs with friends maybe??? also the file browser makes everyone be able to download it and play it with their friends, and you can also make AMAZING maps for machinimas etc, also there are some forge maps in matchmaking, but they’re very inconsistnet, 343 is always refreshing maps and even remove someones (forge mnaps of course), that’s the only issue I find, and that it is 100% online and with live gold.
Until there is a custom games browser, forge will remain limited to the people you can find to play with you.
