No Play Anywhere in the Disc code?

So I brought Halo Wars 2 ultimate edition, & I realized through 3 hrs of Microsoft live chat that in fact the game code in the box does not come with Halo Wars 2 the game itself. But instead only gave me Halo Wars Definite Edition & Season Pass to Halo Wars 2?

I mean, why not just include the game on PC too if you’re going to tout the anywhere feature? & if it’s such a nuance of a difference that a physical copy is actually less then that of a digital copy, who can figure it out? I havent kept up with the intricate details, & now I regret not having brought the digital edition so much. & live chat was no help at all.

It doesnt make any sense, can anybody help me out? How can it include a PC version of season pass for Halo Wars 2 without the actual main game?

3 hours Microsoft live chat later, the guy even asked me to sent in a picture for the receipt proof of purchase & the physical box to verify, only to last minute tell me they can do nothing because I brought the xbox one version & Im asking for the PC code to the main game. There is no play anywhere in the box, what a horrible buying experience.

Im just a casual consumer here, it’s an easy mistake & an easy trap. I dont even own an Xbox One right now, hoping to play Halo Wars 2 on a 99.99 purchase. Got nothing for it.

Sorry but this is common sense, MSFT are not going to give you a digital code for the game with the physical Xbox version otherwise everyone would just sell the physical game after they’ve redeemed the code for the digital version.

Sorry OP but Play Anywhere has been marketed as digital only since it launched. The one exception so far was the partnership with THQ Nordic, there are more details about that in the community updates. To get Play Anywhere you need to buy the digital edition from the MS store or a participating retailer

I think they shouldnt sell the physical copy altogether, I dont think this is the fault of the consumer at all. It’s confusing marketing, & it made me feel like I fell prey to something. Like a poorly defined mix message, it’s not nice giving Xbox a chance on a casual glance for sure.

This is completely your fault. Why would you buy a physical copy of an xbox game if you don’t own an xbox? Makes no sense. Don’t blame others for your mistake

Oh it’s not my fault being confused & having a bad experience, now Im given second thoughts about buying the Xbox One that I was all riled up to getting. Im taking a big step back & looking elsewhere, it’s gonna be like that.

& it’s stupid to think pushing blame game to a consumer does anything, I have all the power. & that’s what Microsoft support did to me, & it’s just bad business not an ounce of remote understanding.

The Play Anywhere is available only on the digital version of the xbox one or windows 10 game, only the Retail PC version have the P.A included not the Xbox One version

Please keep in mind that Xbox one games won’t also work on the PS4 you buy. You have now been warned so can’t blame MS for that mistake when you bombard their forums next complaining that they don’t have a warning label on the retail box confirming this fact.

Well, so long an internet troll is having his kicks on.
