So just today I got a little curious in a game that everybody quit on in H2A. I wanted to just shoot whatever weapons I could find on the map to the wall to test their hipfire vs. zoom. Everybody is hating on 343 for originally saying “no penalty to hipfire” for Halo 5, when actually that is not true. Yes they lied, but I thought there was a penalty to hipfire for every game?
I took a Carbine, shot at a flat wall with hipfire. Normal. Then I shot with zoom next to the marks of before, and to my surprise, the spread was much more condensed and consolidated. I then did the same with a BR, and it was even more noticable. I was starting to get Deja vu. I saw the Youtube video of someone in Halo 5 shooting at the wall, and what I saw in Halo 2 A was EXACTLY what I saw there. This further proves that Smart Scope is just a fancy zoom. Sure, 343 did lie to us, but isn’t it better now that we know that the mechanics of the scope will be similar to the OG zoom?
I’m curious as to what you people think.
That’s what i figured it would be. I think when thy said no penalty to hip fire, they probably in actuality meant that hip firing wouldnt just become obsolete because of smart scope. That kinda phrasing stuff gets lost when you spend so much time working with these kinda things.
>compares Halo 5 and Halo 2A
>both were made by 343i
OP pls
If you want to test this out properly you should try it in Halo 1-3 not in a game which 343i made.

Excuse me?
Are you actually suggesting that 343 PURPOSEFULLY changed the game mechanics of Halo 2 in their remaster? WHAT?
Are you high?
The code of Halo 2 A is EXACTLY the same as in the past, and that’s a fact.
Also, I did check in forge for Halo 3. The same thing also happens.

Yep
It wouldn’t surprise me if they would have done that.
I don’t trust them.
And it can’t possibly be the “EXACT” same code as Halo 2 since it’s running on a different engine.
Halo 4’s engine to be precise.

It’s not a matter of trust. A remaster is completely just the same game with a new paint job. Doing different is against their integrity as a company. They said “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” They went with this ideal, and because of that changing something major in game mechanics like accuracy in scope and hipfire is completely meaningless and pointless. If it was great in the original, then in the remaster it is completely illogical to change it. You people are so tiring, “343 betrayed us”, “343bola”, and such. Yes, they screwed up big time with the MCC, and they did not please the competitive players in Halo 4, but actually suggesting that they would change a huge game mechanic in the remaster is ludicrous. Think about it. What would they gain from it? Nothing. They are adding stuff in the new games because some of the features will bring in new people. They have something to gain from it, but changing a crucial game element from an already established game makes absolutely no sense. Come on, use your brain!

Very true, problem is.
That also neglects the already existing fanbase just because they want to cash in on new people joining the community.
That’s why Halo 4 failed, it didn’t truly play like Halo. That’s why I don’t trust them doing anything with this game. And the MCC not working just fuels that.
They clearly don’t know how to make a proper Halo game.
Halo 4 played like Halo, it failed because of loadout, killstreak, armor abilities…

And those things made it to not play like Halo.

And there were pro variants that didn’t have them in with every vote screen, yet no one ever voted for them… i wonder why?

Because everybody who actually wanted to play some proper Halo had already given up on the game before those gametypes were implemented, that’s why.

Sprint and flinch changed the game enough to make even pro variants not play like previous installments. That and once those pro variants as well as any “classic” variants hit the playlists, most of those who might had had some interest weren’t present anymore.

You mean a proper BUNGIE Halo game?
You must accept that a different studio will do a different thing with the series. Halo 5 IS a proper Halo game, but as well as being a proper 343 Halo game.
