there are a lot of weapons that could easily kill you and your team mates
it would be unfair
for example
say your fighting a warthog alone and almost dead
then I come in with a incineration cannon and blow it up but one of the tennis balls hits you and you die, then you kick me. is that really fair?
Your example is one of collateral damage. People can run around killing teammates in a ghost right now with no consequences.

Indeed, you have a really bad example. In that scenario it wouldn’t even be a betrayal
I’ve noticed that you can only betray by splatters (not tested enemy stick betrayal).
I’m not sure if it’s in certain playlists, but even melees don’t do damage.
It accounts things like damage taken from enemy for it to even consider handing out betrayals. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally taken down my teammates shields simply because they want to Leeroy into my line of sight while we’re engaging.
Would be nice to boot someone such as in Spartan Ops. People going around running over people killing there teammates.
I hope the betrayal system starts to kick in soon for repeat offenders. Several times I’ve had dumb teammates run me over in vehicles in areas vehicles shouldn’t even belong in like B base on Exile Dominion with a ghost.
I can’t wait to get the boot option to appear more often because I’m booting all those players that run me over because their awareness level is negative 9000.

There a different booting system to were it can tell if there was a bad guy nearby or if a bad guy took damage.

I think what he’s saying is it doesn’t reduce your team’s score if you betray. Honestly, I don’t care too much since it looks like you can only betray with Splatters and Sticks.
