I completed the No Pain No Gain achievement, twice, and it is still stuck in a “Done! unlocking…” state since January 8, 2015. This is over 33 days ago.
I would like someone from 343 to please address this issue for me.
This is the only place I can find to contact 343 to get support, so I am posting here.
As the OP has already been told, Xbox achievements not unlocking has nothing to do with the developers. This is an XBL server side issue. Achievements getting stuck at unlocking status has been happening since the Xbox One launched, and is not restricted to MCC. Many other people have had this happen on other games.
I repeat, any achievements that are stuck at unlocking status ARE NOT a 343 issue. This is an XBOX LIVE issue.
Phil, you’re wrong. XBox Live can’t do anything about this. I’ve opened numerous support cases, and it is some kind of bug in 343’s validation system that is preventing XBox Live from reporting the achievement unlocked.
This still hasn’t unlocked for me. Almost 4 months later. The people that say to just wait and it will unlock are full of crap.
Someone at 343 needs to give this issue some attention.

If this is just a 343 issue, then why has this been happening with numerous games since the Xbox One’s launch back in 2013, well before MCC was even announced at E3 2014? RYSE, Watchdogs, NBA 2K14, Minecraft, Call of Duty Ghosts. All examples of games where achievements were stuck on “Done…Unlocking” for many people. Are you trying to say that there are many developers all having bugs with validation on their side? The issue is not on the developers side, the problem is caused by Xbox Live services being unable to validate the completion, as is stated in the Xbox live support section on xbox.com (the 2nd paragraph).
> Achievements don’t unlock instantly when you complete them
>
> In some instances, you may meet the requirements to unlock an achievement but not immediately receive a notice or update to your gamerscore. The Xbox Live service validates the unlocking of achievements and, though rare, delays can occur. Don’t worry – your progress has been recorded and the achievement will be awarded shortly, usually in less than 24 hours.
This paragraph clearly states Xbox Live services are responsible for validation of achievements. If you were told this was a 343 issue by Xbox Support, you should know that Xbox Support are notorious for telling people the wrong information about game issues simply to avoid dealing with the person. A good Halo related example of this is when they continue to tell people who didn’t receive the free month of XBL gold to come here to get their codes or to get a refund for the game. Xbox/Microsoft support are the only ones authorised to issue either of these, and 343 have no access to any personal information on any XBL accounts to give any type of refund. Yet Xbox Support continue to tell people this, even though it is wrong. They tried telling me the same thing until I told them my role on this forum and called them out for providing false information, after which they were soon quick to give me a new 1 month code. My advice is to always take anything Xbox Support say with a pinch of salt, since they don’t really seem to know what they are doing unless it involves a warranty issue (which they will again try to avoid).
My achievement unlocked yesterday because I played an entirely different level through on LASO.
If its not 343, then the Xbox one achievement systems sucks a big fat one and continues to be an issue over a year after the console’s launch.
I have now have two more halo MCC achievements stuck in a “Done! Unlocking…” state for the last 2 weeks. Except this time I have no idea how to get them to unlock since they are achievements that can’t be done more than once.
