Please not for campaign. I loved exploring the levels back in Halo 3 and ODST.
I agree. It works really well for multiplayer, but it does not have a place in the campaign.
+1
I completely agree. We need our good old invisible barriers back!
So you want another year on Halo 4?
another year? i wasn’t aware it took that long

nah i hate when i get out with one second go back up the brav lift then die or make it so no holding over
> another year? i wasn’t aware it took that long
What I mean is, developement time would go up because they would need to test areas player should not be reaching to ensure the game doesn’t lag, freeze up, or even brick their console.
Keep it only in matchmaking. If we can get out of the map, let us, its for our entertainment only. Whats the worst that can happen?

I feel the same way, I remember exploring Delta Halo in Halo 2 and just scaling “mountains” of grass in co-op. So damn cool.
yes.
no soft kills either
It got ridiculous in MP in Reach as well, I think you should be able to remove it completely in Custom Games- be able to fly as high as you want on any map. I loved doing the gridflip jump in Forge World, but when you got too high, it counted down from 10 seconds and you died.
Agreed. I’m tired of not being able to explore the maps and have fun. Halo 3 > Reach
i agree, but not for multiplayer. I rather have a countdown than a invisible wall. It adds to the realism.
Optimally, none of those at all. Just make campaign areas hard to break out of. And have the option to delete all killzones in forge on maps.
If not both of those, the later, because I know for fact if 343i tries to make campaign glitch-proof, someone is going to make a better glitcher. The return to battlefield barriers certainly did not stop campaign glitchers in Reach. I infact even know how to get out of Winter Contingency, Sword Base, Tip of the Spear, The Package, and Pillar of Autumn.
Invisible barriers are far better than those awful kill zones. I loved exploring back in Halo 2 and Halo 3!
EDIT: I’ve never understood the purpose of barriers in Theater.
agreed, I also dont want any in multiplayer maps that cannot be deleted. All kill boundaries should be deleteable
For campaign, I agree that we should be able to go out and explore on our own. Doing so wouldn’t be that hard (since no, it wouldn’t make our console freeze up or anything, that’s not how it works), and would make people much happier! Or maybe do it like Halo 2 where you could climb around of stuff to skip through parts or just face those encounters differently!
And for multiplayer, I wish they would go back to the way some Halo 3 maps like Snowbound, Sandtrap and Sandbox did things. Rather than just have an invisible wall or a big “RETURN TO BATTLEFIELD”, they should have turrets that would shoot you if you went too far away or some mines that would blow you up. Man, back in the day where maps were fun and creative…
I definitely agree. Especially when they are placed in absurd locations… that’s horrific. Incredibly linear gameplay breaks Halo.
agreed exploring in halo is one of my fav things to do in campaign
I see what bungie did there ;D they were partners with EA so they would sponsor battlefield with their soft kill boundaries, of course people would get tired of reach so subconsciously they would “return to battlefield” lol Jk
But in all seriousness I did miss -Yoinking!- around and leaving the beaten path to explore, I remember the cave of 1000 faces back in Halo 3, it’s purpose is still mysterious to me. Hopefully in Halo 4 they let us explore our new surroundings and maybe place a few Easter eggs out there. ( the greater the distance, the greater the easter egg)
