There are body types, and while i chose slender, this in jo way makes my spartan a female, all the grunts and voice lines are male. Do you think we will be able to change this in future releases or are spartans locked to males again

Yes, I would be very surprised if we cannot pick female Spartans, as the whole point of Multiplayer having a story is to make our Spartan us. Or, you know, who we want it to be.
I bet you they won’t even label them as female. they’ll just be more numbers on the slider to not offend the games journalists

so genders are confirmed to be in HI but are not present in the flight? where did you get that information?

From the Waypoint vNext beta app, there is a section to choose Spartan Voice Pattern. I don’t know if this will be where one’s gender shows, or if there will be a more feminine body model to match, but that’s what I can find thus far. Though to be fair, there’s not much to tell from it; patterns are named Voiceprint 1A76; 10D3; DF09; 2SAW; K5Q2; 16TS; and one that’s cut off halfway but I assume is LRP5. And they don’t offer previews yet.

I was wondering about that this morning when I was digging through the app. Good news though is we don’t have to be stuck with stock emblems for the flight. Changed mine and got a ton of messages asking if I was a Dev. Lol.
In the waypoint app you can change your voice, so I imagine there will be genders
Most probably will be an option in the actual game. Pretty sure I’ve been hearing female groans from some of the enemy bots too.
I feel like I’ve heard female Spartans grunting in my games tbh. So I figured the slender option was what caused that. Now I’m lost though. Maybe I’m not remembering correctly.

Nothing to do with game journalists I’m sure. Players love more customization.
I’m willing to bet we have 2 options independent of each other. A body type slider (which we have now) and a separate option to pick our voice (more than just 1 male 1 female). And we’ll be able to match any voice with any body type.
