agreed

Consolation prize is you deal 20% more damage with your flagnum.

I don’t have an opinion on the Assault variant.

Highlight 1) What is a Slayer player doing with the Flag? They’re not doing they’re job then. They’re supposed to be slaying, and defending their Objective player, not the other way around.

Highlight 2) And you’re not supposed to do that? Since when?

Highlight 3) When has this been confirmed, and where?

Ok so you’re limiting the slayer by not allowing him anywhere near the flag. What if the other team is all camped in their base and the slayer can’t slay without approaching the base. What if he’s protecting the carrier and he dies right beside you and you accidentally pick it up? Your attention is most likely on an enemy not the possiblility of your carrier dying beside you. So much can go wrong for something that would work out maybe 20% of the time. It hinders your ability to have any sort of strategy.

I agree for now. I obviously haven’t tried it myself, but I can’t wrap my mind around 343’s explanation for this. I get the whole commitment thing, but sometimes the best way to progress the game and help your team involves dropping the flag. What if you have a sniper, and your offense is completely destroyed while attacking the enemy base except for you. You are the only person in the base. You have no choice but to grab the flag and get out. Thus, your team no longer has a sniper. This applies to any similar situation with any power weapon.

I disagree.

Exactly, there is hardly any room for improvising. You commit and that’s it, run home quickly.

Also on the screen it tells you where the flag carriers are now, which sucks I don’t usually agree with conservative player ideals but I agree.

In an instance like that where your team is dead except you, and you have the flag, this is where the whole “teamwork” mentality comes into play. They are focusing gameplay to be more team oriented. Hard to do with a bunch of randoms. But usually a team of 4-5 will not have a problem such as this.

The main problem being that improvising makes the game fun and interesting. The way I see it, this literally makes the game less fun and interesting. I’m not going to complain further because I haven’t tried it yet, but these are my impressions from what I’ve seen.

there is a lot of irony to this change, they’re doing it to add more “depth”, focus and teamwork when actually its removing the depth, focus and teamwork that was there with default CTF.
