No one is playing infinite now because of the challenge system

I feel like 343 is shooting themselves in the foot with this challenge system so unbelievably bad, it’s hard to believe they aren’t fixing it.
The last 3 days I’ve logged on and have had nothing to do so I just hop onto another game… It’s not just me, not a single person on my friends list is playing infinite by friday since we all have our challenges done…
343 has this broken system that only rewards you for doing stupid tasks so as soon as it gets released each week we all rush to do them and then there’s no point in playing infinite… no rewards or leveling system to make it worth playing, earning 1 lvl every 20 games does not count as worth playing… Even if I do decide to play I have to play with randoms since everyone on my friends list and in the spartan company have already ground out the challenges and aren’t currently playing infinite, everyones just waiting for the next set of challenges… So stupid… 343 please fix your progression system,

I wouldn’t say nobody is playing game considering it’s had a consistently high player-count on Steam since launch

Regardless, the challenge-only progression really isn’t enjoyable to me, it’d be nice if you were awarded XP for performance as oppose to forcing people to pull off challenges that just aren’t engaging or fun to do.

at least 100k people playing on steam and climbing

That was kind of the goal. To not make it feel like you have to play every single day.

Don’t forget it’s a holiday weekend. You can’t expect everybody to be available and not busy to play a video game in their limited free time right now.

I had the same feeling on Wednesday. But my friends were still responding to my messages about playing Infinite. They were just too busy with family to play.

The point in playing a game is to play the game, if you’re a challenge/task addict then I certainly don’t want you on my team.

Like one of my friends would spend almost all his time in the auction house on EFT and I’m like “That’s not the game though” and he’s like "well they put it in the game so it’s designed to be apart of the gameplay and I’m just cringing at his lack of understanding.

Things that supplement gameplay are not gameplay themselves, nor are they the primary reason for entertainment. They are intended to be bonus incentives to get you to try things and provide a bit of stimulation outside of gameplay

You haven’t substantiated that nobody is playing Infinite. It’s in your thread title but the actual post is about yourself.

One of the most played games in steam atm, I don’t know about that one lol. The game is fine for the most part, the progression is what everyone has a beef with.
