No one cares if you leave.

I’m sorry, but when every page on the forum has at least several topics of rage quitters instead of people asking for help and advice (what it’s meant for), I just can’t get myself to really care. I for one love the game. There’s a few minor changes that should be done IMO, but 343 is listening and fixing things as they can. People don’t need to go public with their quitting of Halo. Are these people just looking for people to beg them to come back and play or something? I don’t think many people really care, because in the end, all it turns into is a bunch of the same old arguments.

Question: If I ask for ‘help & advice’ as you suggest… will 343 answer?

I say, let them leave.

Why?

That way the rest of us don’t have to deal with them, and they can do hug their other games.

Well, if enough people leave… The game dies. Haha.

If a game dies, no one buys DLC, or anything. If no one spends money to support the game, or further their experience, the company suffers. If the company suffers, the game suffers.

So, really, keeping players is crucial. Durp.

Probably not. I know it took me 12 hours to finally get ahold of bsangel on twitter to resolve my issue. I think with the thousands of things cropping up, its nearly impossible to actually get help from someone connected to the studio that can give real assistance as opposed to a mod, just making sure people follow ToS regulations.

On the other hand, I have found this community to be very helpful with many of the questions I have previously asked. I mean, the CM and 343 employees can’t be on here very often, as I think we’ve all noticed, but I think thats what the point of these forums are. A community built to help each other out, and for me, it has been working quite well.

I care when people leave for the reason that it means there are less gamers in playlists and waiting times are increased. Earlier today there were playlists like KoTH and Oddball and Slayer pro which were down to 500, 800 and 800 players respectively.

The sad thing is that from finding games instantly on launch day I now have to wait 3-5 minutes and it’s only increasing every day. 90% of the 400 K plus population has diminished and we are down to 40-60 K at max.

Sad to see a game that had massive potential fail worst then reach, population wise.

I suppose the topic is misleading, but the amount of characters were limited. I do care in a very similar sense to yours; much less people, longer wait times in queues, less competition, etc,. I just find the amount of topics in the forum pretty ridiculous. I’m well aware people are quitting (Playlist population is a sad indicator), but ragequitting on the forums… It’s a waste of time and all that it leads to is flame wars and arguments about “you must suck if you’re not having fun” and similar comments.

Personally it makes me happy when people say they’re gonna leave. Good riddance I say, I don’t care if you believe you’re true Halo player that’s fed up. Be gone and leave me to be matchmade with people that enjoy the game as much as me.

A little patch went out yesterday which showed some improvment. I’m sure that when the new ranks come out theres gonna be another patch/tu and itll be a big one addressing the main issues. But its nice to see 343 making subtle changes finally, baby steps guys. I think 343 knows now they did some things wrong and will fix them, and all these quitters will come back. I just think quitting in game needs to be penalized.

In game quitting is pretty annoying, I must agree, and i think the thing that bothers me the most is it seems whenever I get betrayed by an obvious accident, either my fault or theirs, I get the option to boot, but when I get betrayed because Im in the vehicle they want or have sniper or rockets they want, I don’t get the option. even if I’m betrayed 2+ times in a row by the same person (happened twice so far).

Your logic for this post is as bad as the people who make threads whining and saying they will leave this game. You have provided nothing helpful to the community by making this thread just like the people i mentioned who make whining threads.

on another note, as we’ve seen with the lowest population numbers after the release of any halo game in halo 4, if enough people leave this game will be dead within 6 months

I would love Halo to have a lot of players, and I would also love for more people to experience the fun and flexible options available in multiplayer. More people means more fun.

However:

Announcing you’re leaving is tantamount to Facebook drama posts or some kind of digital cry for help. Do it or don’t, it’s not worth a thread. How many threads we see of people announcing “I’m going to play Halo!” Never. You wanna leave Halo, do it.

Also, what these people really are doing is holding their playtime ransom and detailing why they’re leaving as some sort of last ditch effort to change the game for their ends. Think of it as a personal boycott. That’s actually a good way to go about it, but again there’s no reason to flood the forums - these same messages could be posted in threads about matchmaking.

Side Note: These kinds of threads happened in during every Halo game launch, and more than once did I visit old ones to see the person still playing the game. People need to remember their stats are directly tied to the forums.

i didn’t realize there was a boot option in halo 4 ?
