No... Not Legendary Slayer!

In this weeks Bulletin, Bravo talked about 343 moving Legendary Slayer in to Infinity.

When Legendary Slayer first launched, it was filled with people. Then when played for about 3 days the population decreased and people we’re quitting, going back to Infinity Slayer. They didn’t wanna get wrecked

Now, since the Champions Bundle is out Legendary has had about 100 people in it. No one has been playing it because everyone who was went to check out the Champion Bundle.

Since the people who got -Yoink- on went back to infinity and now Legendary Slayer is being moved over to that playlist it is really never going to get voted for. I can see Legendary BRs but not Legendary Slayer.

I hope 343 reconsiders next week when people have gotten Ricochet’d out and want to check out some other playlist they add Legendary Slayer as a standalone playlist again.

EDIT: Messed up poll, it’s supposed to say “Own”, not “On”

Consolidation has been on the cards for awhile now. I’m not surprised at all.

I would be fine with the consolidation if they actually gave community settings a chance before canning it, but it would be a stupid decision to remove legendary with the settings that are currently in place.

add magnum secondaries.
Add a BR/AR voting option.
remove sprint.
add map variety.
fix map layouts, spawn times, and ammo counts.

Then decide if the playlist can stand on it’s own two feet. Don’t pretend like the settings you’ve implemented are the pinnacle of what the community has asked for. Until you react to the feedback for this playlist it would be premature to consolidate it.

I have to agree from a different point of view. I personally prefer how Halo 4 plays in its default state. All of the variations that have been added in the meantime (Slayer Pro, Legendary Slayer etc.) with the exception of Team Throwdown, have all felt off to me. I can’t quite nail exactly what it is, these variations just do not feel right.

If Legendary BRs is indeed added to Infinity Slayer, the probability of me playing Infinity Slayer in the future will drop… again. Looks like I am going to be stuck playing CTF.

I would love legendary slayer again as it’s own playlist… Before my gold membership run out, i’ve been playing more of the legendary slayer because i enjoyed it a LOT more than infinity (aside from few “awesome” games when i got stuck in a team against three guys with 50 CSR)

With the new -Yoink- armor skill called Survivor i miss the legendary slayer more and more yet…

Se HELL YES, i want the legendary slayer as it’s own playlist again.

Half of the maps are unplayable in split-screen, only reason why i dont play LS anymore.

If your talking about Low FPS or Button Delay, this is because of the shadows in forge created maps. It’s kind of 343’s fault, as they should’ve known about this. On the other hand it’s also the Xbox’s fault because it’s old.

I didn’t care for Legendary at all until now. Try to poison my favorite “dead” Custom Loadouts by merging the “Halo-saving” playlist with it. No me gusta.

I’ll just quote myself from what I put in the Infinity Slayer Feedback:

> I’m going to say it right now:
>
> I already hate going into Infinity, wanting to use my Custom Loadouts, and being forced to using a BR (or to a lesser extent, not be able to use my lovely Storm Rifle, Pulse Grenade, or Autosentry) because Pro was voted (I didn’t mind this before, but now that Pro basically has its own playlist, Legendary, I don’t like this now).
>
> But now I’m going to go into Infinity, want to use my Custom Loadouts (and those -Yoink!- LightRifle and Storm Rifle Skins), and possibly have to be forced to Pro OR Legendary now (well, not really forced since I’ll leave every single time Pro or Legendary is voted)?
>
> No me gusta. Whatsoever.
>
> Classic lovers have their own playlist now. And plus it’ll be getting BRs soon.
>
> Infinity lovers have their own playlist.
>
> Keep the two separate. I’m very glad that we can have both (continue this forever!), but a merge isn’t the way to go. I don’t care how low the Classic playlist’s population is, keep it separate. That’s how both the Infinity and Classic lovers want it. Neither want to merge (or at the least anymore since they both have their own playlists now). Classic lovers want their own playlist, and Infinity lovers want their own playlist, which is working out completely fine right now.

this makes me think: Why not move Slayer Pro in with Legendary?

It might help boost the legendary pop to also have the slayer pro people there too and the infinity crowd wouldn’t have to worry about going without their loadouts…?

thoughts?

I welcome the merge. in halo 2-reach days playlists had diversity. Not everyone enjoyed all gametypes sure. But it made for a much cleaner UI and much simpler.
The settings as is are all over the place which isn’t good for anyone.

Halo 4 spoiled people IMO. Before when we had diversity no one really much threw a fit if they had to play one game of something they didn’t like. Now everyone seems to be acting like a 2 year old shouting “BUT I DON’T WANNA!!”

I think it’s absolutely stupid that i have to go between 2 or more playlists just to get variations of slayer or objective. Plus the UI has it’s max set of playlists possible. And because we don’t have consolidated playlists we have to chuck a new playlist almost each week which upsets fans as well. For instance we no longer have a team objective playlist because of all this.

Its nearly impossible to find games of extraction, KOTH and oddball. This also hurts maps selection and DLC. We have pretty much everything to gain from merging playlists.

Honestly how did any of you “whiners” get through every other halo game?

You have to admit the difference between slayer and slayer BRs in older titles is nothing compared to the gap that would exist between infinity and a true no-sprint classic gametype. They are fundamentally different games, where as older slayer playlists were simply differentiated by different starting weapons.

agree that playlists need to be consolidated and a team objective playlist is sorely missed, but I think there are better ways.

I am aware how different they are. I still don’t feel it justify this mess we call playlists now adays. Merging is the answer. Maybe not LE slayer in infinity slayer. But it is an answer to playlists in general. I don’t have an issue with this particular merge because i can play both gametypes just fine.

But i also believe the “i don’t want to play x” isn’t a valid reason to not merge. 343 does plan on supporting halo 4 for quite sometime so this could be a test to see how well it works.

I kind of want this to happen, but on the other hand it might lower the population even more. The better option might be to move legendary into big team.

Stop whining, legendary slayer must stay in the infinity playlist, like it or not. People that play infinity have good connection and quick search times, classic halo players are forced to wait 7+ mins just to get in a game with mexican or colombian host? How is that fair? You had 9 months to play infinity slayer, now it’s time to adapt and let us play classic halo in a playlist with good population.

The game is virtually unplayable in splitscreen anyway, Forge maps make things a whole lot worse.

Personally, I love the move. I really enjoy Legendary settings but I refuse to play any playlists with less than 700 players. At that point connections and skill matches become very poor.

Another thing I wish 343 would do is add Team Regicide to the Infinity Slayer playlist. I haven’t been able to play it since it was its own playlist several months ago. 343 should consider renaming Infinity Slayer (call it Team Slayer!).

Nobody needs Slayer pro when we get legendary BRs. Slayer pro is to much like the throwdown slayer setting.

I hate to play without radar, its a totally different way to play and i am not used to play without.

I’m ok with Slayer Pro being in the playlist because it’s not as drastically different from Infinity, however, Legendary is the exact opposite and I don’t think it’s going to work as-well, I do not see the Infinity crowd voting for it.

I also wish they improved it first before these changes, it’s almost as if they responded to as little feedback as possible, seriously, when most of us ask for no sprint- you can’t just ignore us, do they still think sprint works or some-thing?

At least we are getting BR starts, well, when I say “we” I mean “you” because I’ve just given up on this game.

It is nothing like Throw-down, you get to chose a range of weapons to start with (one automatic, the rest precision) and you get radar now.

Because I didn’t dislike default CE, 2, 3 or Reach, at least not to the extent that I dislike Infinity Slayer in all its random glory.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Custom Classes and whatnot, it’s what they put in those classes and what they’ve done with powerweapons and personal ordinace that ticks me off.

Major playlist consolidation is in order. At the expense of not getting to exactly define the game type we want to play we’ll see shorter waits for matches, less lag through regional matching and more DLC lobbies.
