No "No Radar" gametypes in basic playlists

This is more a personal issue than an issue with gameplay or anything. But I honestly don’t get to play with full parties very often anymore, I’m one of my only friends that still plays Halo, much less Halo 4 as most of my friends went back to Halo 3 or Reach. Which means often at times I get a group of non-communicating randoms or randoms without headsets.

This makes “pro” gamemodes MORE than frustrating, because I’ve noticed some teams picking up a gimmick of full teams of players consistently voting radarless modes when the enemy team doesn’t have mics, giving their abilities to callout an even MORE unfair advantage, as you don’t even get a motion tracker to give you extra local awareness.

So I have to ask, please keep radarless gameplay separate from basic gamemodes. SWAT, Snipers, and Throwdown it’s fine, but I shouldn’t be getting ‘Pro’ games when I could be getting basic settings.

Sorry, I cannot agree on this. Having more playlists would just divide the player base even further.

If these Pro gametypes are the most popular, doesn’t that mean most of the community prefers radarless gametypes?

Anywho, I have no problem with Infinity settings, but I choose Pro gametypes over Infinity gametypes any day. Reasons being the heavier emphasis on teamwork and the absence of armor abilities, personal loadouts and ordnance drops.

never played radarless matches on ts or rumble pit, showdown pro actually has got the radar included

Pro isn’t the most popular. I only get it on occasions where the other team is a full party, it’s picking up popularity with them whenever the enemy team can’t communicate because it boosts the advantage communication gives them significantly. Infinity and Team Slayer tend to be the most popularly voted. And I’m not asking for more playlists, just radarless types cut out of basic lists. There are already enough playlist designed specifically for no-radar games, SWAT, Snipers, and Throwdown are plenty.

I’m sorry, but I disagree a lot. Halo 3 didn’t have the gametype Slayer Pro and it was slightly irritating because it stopped variety in the playlists. However Halo 2 and Halo Reach had it in every slayer playlist and I think it adds some good variety.

I think what stopped variety more than anything was AR’s being so unbelievably atrocious in Halo 3, not the lack of a Pro. At least in Halo 2, and Reach, SMG/AR starts were passably ok.

Even when I’m playing alone and there aren’t many skilled players or large parties in the lobby Infinity slayer is selected only about once out of four matches.

Keep in mind that term “Pro gametypes” is misleading. They’re just more classical Halo settings which most likely is the reason for their existence and popularity.

Also Swat, Snipers and Throwdown are all unique playlists in their own way and play differently than others. Pro gametypes in basic playlists aren’t much more unique than Swat Carbine in Swat playlist or Shotgun Ricochet in Ricochet playlist. Cutting them out completely would be unfair to many players and there wouldn’t be any sense in making these Pro gametypes their own playlist especially now that the game population has dropped significantly.

No matchmaking can only give you gametypes you like the most. People are different and have their own favorites.

Why are these gametypes an issue to you anyway if they get selected fewer times than Infinity gametypes?

Radar is integral to halo. To all those people who want it gone, leave! We need it, it’s what makes halo halo. It always has!

All Halo games that have matchmaking include gametypes that don’t have radar. Not having radar makes the gametype rely more on teamwork. I enjoy gametypes that have radar, but it’s good to have variation in the game.

I have to strongly disagree on the highlighted part. What makes Halo is the feel of it. Countless games use features that appear in Halo, but Halo cannot truly be copied.
