Sounds like a pretty good idea; however 343 have more important things to do currently! Maybe when they fix halo 4 from the broken mess it is currently, then they may consider it.
This is indeed an issue.
There should be a playlist with community-submitted forge maps! Why Bungie and 343 never introduced this I have no clue, but it would definitly revitalize Reach.
343 don’t need to make maps.
Some of us made some pretty good ones before the launch of h4, which are probably better than most of Reach or H4 maps, and perform flawlessly.
They just need to add them to MM.

They did. Bungie had community playlists in both Halo 3 and Reach when they had control. The playlists in each game lasted quite a while, with different maps swapped and changed at regular intervals, before they were removed. The playlists were used to see which community maps were popular enough to be put into regular matchmaking playlists.
I think 343 just put community made maps straight into existing playlists rather than have a dedicated playlist specifically for community maps.
> Why can we not have a community map playlist to add fresh content to a great game?
Excellent question and the answer is a conflict of interest. The game publisher wants players to buy the shiny new money machine. The old games may work just fine, but as money machines go, they are rusty hunks of scrap taking up space that could be used for the new money machine. The shorter production cycle for sequels puts even greater pressure on publishers to cut off support for old games. No matter how much a publisher respects the wants of the player community, the financial interests will always win out.
I honestly wouldn’t expect 343i to maintain Reach ever again. Halo 4 is their baby. Reach had its time and now it’s outdated. I’d much rather them focus on fixing the problems of Halo 4 than trying to maintain Reach.
Yeah, I agree. They should still update Reach, by making another map pack or adding community maps. I think Reach is a great game and there is still alot of people that play it. Not to mention, the game is only like 2 1/2 years old.
Also, I have something more to add. Halo Reach doesn’t have to die, they should just give it some attention. The game really isn’t that old. I play Halo 3 and you can find games on that, so Reach shouldn’t have much of a problem, really.
Totally understand the need to focus on H4 and the commercial aspect of putting effort into an “old” game. I really doubt the effort would be huge to add some playlist variety via more Community made maps but I guess there is no incentive for 343 to do that…
I think this is a great idea, there are tons of great maps out there that could have a good impact on the reach multiplayer, i myself have a couple maps that are pretty good,
Pulse
Little Town
Resistance
Ravage
Crashsite
Haunted Town…
