According to gamespot article here http://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-5s-memories-of-reach-update-arrives-today-nex/1100-6439745/, there is a quote saying June maybe the last free update we get for Halo 5.
If this is to be true, can we expect Halo 6 to drop next year? I really think its too soon for another Halo, considering Master Chief hasn’t been updated and Halo 5 still remains a bit hollow on the multiplayer side.
What do you guys think?

I wouldn’t get your hopes up on a major Halo release happening any sooner than on a three year cycle. Halo Wars is coming out this year though.
And June(ish) is the last announced update for the first fiscal year. I would be shocked if we don’t get more after that.

We’d most likely get something at E3, if anything.
That’s where big announcements are made.

When you say that it is the last announced update this year, doesn’t it mean that they could make a surprise updates in the next three years, until halo 6 comes out?
But Hog Wild is coming out in June, and Warzone Firefight is supposed to come out this summer… maybe Warzone Firefight will be included with the Hog Wild update?
Halo 6 is most likely a fall of 2018 release. Halo 1, 2, and 3 were on a 3 year cycle. Halo 4 came out 5 years after Halo 3 and Halo 5 came out 3 years after Halo 4 putting them back onto the 3 year cycle. I wouldn’t expect this to ever be sped up. I would bet a large sum of money Halo 6 will not be out before fall of 2018. If anything it would be later.
I anticipate a paid DLC like the champions bundle from halo 4. (The $10 DLC that came out in Summer 2013 I think)
I would say before they release a DLC, they better fix MCC and make few game modes permanent.
It was said that we were getting updates until at least June 2016. That means that it’s very possible for us to keep getting stuff afterwards. We know there’s still a remix of The Rig to come out, and I’m sure there’s more too.

It just means they only announce plans through a fiscal year (which ends in June for 343, I believe). They’ll likely announce further plans towards the end of that year, as the guy above guesses, potentially at E3.
I wouldn’t worry too much until E3. Should get info on HW2 as well!
Can’t you guys just be -Yoinking!- patient, do you want Halo6 to be even more rushed than 5 or what? I’m glad 343 didn’t announce a thing about Halo 6 yet and I hope they won’t show some at E3, they better take their time to make this one good…

I’m with you on this one
June is a date put in for legal / financial reasoning (end of fiscal year). As we still have E3 to get through, I’m quite sure that Halo 5 will still see some new thing coming to it. The |Forge team certainly have a wish list they want to get through 
I’m sure 343i will continue to release updates. While they may not be free after their last scheduled update, I’m sure MS will have them continue to make DLC for the game.
E3 will tell us more perhaps. I’m hoping they at least do a quarterly update to iron things out and make necessary adjustments and continue adding community maps along with playlist rotation.
This years Halo game is Halo Wars 2 and next years (2017) will be a spin off or remaster. Then in 2018 Halo 6 will come out, rinse and repeat. Main Halo games come out on a 3 year cycle then in the years in between there’s spin offs.

Reach shipped on a 3 year too. ODST was the only non-4 year cycle. H4 began in 09 remember under 343.
