if you keep buffing weapons you end up making ttk quicker unless you boost health/shields and it’s just a never ending cycle.
Weapons need to have the appropriate TTK values for the tier they are in. For example the AR and sidekick shouldn’t have faster TTKs than power or off the rack weapons now it’s only a few but still.
Not really… everything being overpowered would hammer the players to the point there’s almost no gunfight. Also, halo weapons have normally been situational, as in they aren’t that effective in some situations, but are very effective in others. Some need to stay ineffective in certain situations so that your play style changes depending on which weapon you use or what you see the enemy has.
At one point in time, I would have agreed. Like when Bungie was so adamant on SMG starts in Halo 2, they needed to buff the SMG, not nerf the BR. But, alas, they nerfed the BR in Halo 3, haha.
No, that’s not how you balance a game. If you just buff everything up, you end up increasing the time to kill, which completely changed the game. Sometimes you have to need things to keep the numbers where you want them. Unless you’re also buffing health and shields at the some, in which case you’re doing the same thing as a nerf, just in a less efficient way.
I disagree. overpowered starting weapons are a huge detriment to the game’s otherwise well balanced power weapons.
Why do some people try to turn this game into something it’s not?. This isn’t COD we have gunfights in this game.

That’s a cute and trendy quote you picked up, sadly it doesn’t apply to everything. If every weapon had a 0.10 TTK other than the BR, no buffing the BR to a one burst wouldn’t make for a good game. There is indeed a middle ground that has to be reached, some things can be better or worse based on their utility, but everything is good in moderation.
