No more Trash Talking In Halo 5

This is the second time I’ve been banned for communication for trash talking in Halo 5.

Trash Talk used to be part of the game but all these people with paper thin skin can now just report you and xbox live enforcement unfortunately will suspend you.

What do you guys think about this shift from Trash Talking (like in Halo 3) with this now please be family friendly with Halo 5.

It’s always been like this but yea, people need to toughen up IMO. As long as you’re not being racist, homophobic etc, i think its fair game. People need to realise trash talking is just a bit of fun, kinda like tea bagging.

Im thinking if you were banned for it it was something along those lines.

i love trash talk tho.

Everyone’s a wimp these days.

Yeah I usually tell people they’re bad or get stomped on stuff like that

nothing homophobic sometimes I’ll use mild language but thats about it

Does xbox live actually ban you for saying something along the lines of “damn you suck”? I just cant believe they would be so touchy.

Actually yes, I tried to dispute it and they told me my use of profanity was against the Xbox Live Terms of service

It’s better this way imo.

Exactly it depends on the type of trash talk. I don’t mind it. Yes I kinda miss it sometimes.

As long as it isn’t homophobic, racist, sexist or sexually abusive I don’t see the problem with it but I will probably never trash talk again.

I haven’t been banned before but I’ve been reported for my gamertag for whatever reason.

usually losers who don’t like that you did better than them report you

and have their friends file false reports

thats the enforcement team for ya

My friend got his account banned for a month for trash talking a kid on Halo 5. It was pretty funny actually.

Define trash talk. If you were banned I would guess what you said involved racial slurs or calling people -Yoinks!-.

I guess case closed then. You admitted to violating the terms of service that you agreed to by activating your account. I don’t see why you are complaining. Trash talking in video games is pointless.

Exactly. Nobody wants to have an abusive -Yoink- on the end of the mic. Trash talking is for kids. I don’t mind a bit of joking around, but I don’t really want to put up with abuse. Glad the feedback system is working!

The problem is with how society itself is taught to take offense to every little thing, whether those things be serious issues or not.
Unfortunately that means something that has always been apart of gaming as a light hearted and usually more funny than serious thing is going to be treated as something worse than it is.

People are so butt hurt these days. I chirped some guy in hockey they other day about his robo-cop looking helmet and he two-handed me over the head with his stick!

Halo 3 was rated M for a mature audience, trash talk is acceptable. But Halo 5 is rated T for Teens, meaning no trash talking. It’s simple.
