One thing that bugs me though, why are all the split-screen discussions limited to one thread? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to spam, but it would be far easier if the monitors could allow another 2 or 3 threads to be made, because this is like a large dinning table right now. People are sitting on the table, trying to talk to each other in between everyone else on the table, but can’t hear each other, because everyone is having their own conversation with someone else. You’ve got the people who are complaining about the removal of split-screen, mixed in with people sharing memories around split-screen, mixed in with the people giving ideas about trying to include split-screen or alternative couch co-op ideas. Sure the people that have been following this thread since day 1 of its creation can follow along, but when you have someone relatively new, like me, who can’t find a certain portion of the entire split-screen discussion, which forces me to make a new topic, that specifically addresses that portion of the discussion and within 20 minutes have it locked and me getting told to move my post to “the main thread”.
No offence to the monitors, it’s not their fault that this situation has spawned a lot of conversation, but this is a very wide topic, and it cannot and should not be limited to a single thread. There should be at least 2 or 3 threads on this topic - discussing the current situation(mostly complaining about it, but I digress), sharing ideas about split-screen and couch co-op in the hopes that 343i might find these ideas, however crazy or far fetched, to be quite good and giving them some thought, and something for sharing our fondest moments on split-screen with friends, with the hope of showing 343i the value of this feature and possibly compelling them to try and put the feature in the game post-launch, if there is no such plan in the works to begin with.
And this isn’t just about split-screen, such situations have a very wide spectrum of conversation, and should be allowed at least 2 or 3 threads in order to keep the conversations clean, thus turning said conversations in to potentially valuable feedback in this case for 343i, or what ever studio or brand that hosts such forums.
Unless the entire purpose of having a single split-screen thread in the entire forum is to make sure that this issue is forgotten, or it’s importance dumbed down, I implore the monitors of the Halo Waypoint forums to allow the creation of multiple threads for a given topic, while monitoring(no pun intended) them for spam in order to maintain clean and healthy conversations without limiting the entire split-screen topic to one thread.
The purpose of these forums is clean and healthy conversations, and this current thread is not the solution. That is the main reason the monitors have had to create a 4TH VERSION of the “official” split-screen thread. If you allow for 2 or 3 more “sub-topic” threads to be created and NOT locked, than there will be no more need to create version 5000 of a single thread, that probably gains so much hate and spam BECAUSE of being the only thread for that to happen. Let this and future topics flourish, there is no need to limit people because the monitors of the forum of one of the largest gaming franchises in the world are incapable of handling an extra 2 threads, when hundreds or even thousands of them are created every week.
Please let the users of these forums to create a few more threads on this topic for the purpose of setting up a clean and healthy conversation, allowing more people to voice their opinion on the different matters, and potentially provide feedback for 343i that can improve the upcoming Halo titles.
I say again, that doesn’t mean I want you to indorse spam and improper behavior on the forum, just allow this topic to flourish and not die down.
