There’s just under a month left of 2012, I don’t see how this a big deal.
I was under the impression it was 10 weeks after release, none of this mid season stuff…
Defend it all you like, but it would have been nice to have this announced officially, not hidden in a strategy guide…
I doubt that it’s already on a mini-hiatus after only five episodes. My guess is that they don’t want to spoil every episode so early months before they come out. Even if it is true, i’ll still be playing it because they’re that fun; I can handle a month of no new Spops.
5 episodes with a total of 25 chapters have enough re-play value to me, but they shouldn’t wait too long with the new episodes.
I don’t care, as long as the new chapters aren’t the same rehashed leftovers.
At least give us some “new” recycled bits.
What is it with all of these mid-season breaks? First Breaking Bad, now this.
Seriously don’t understand it.
Christmas and New Years, probably just a Holiday break before releasing the other episodes.
maybe they will be making new play spaces during the little break lol.
I hope it’s not to long. The end of episode 5 left me on the edge of my seat.

I thought it was ten episodes a season, and five seasons?
That would imply that we get five more episodes. Unless, as you said, it’s a “mid season hiatus.”
Slightly off topic: Remember the days when TV shows would run for 22 more or less uninterrupted episodes in a season? Now it’s a few episodes here, a few episodes there, new time slot, new night, hiatus, a few more episodes there, preempted, last two season episodes including a season finale, then all of summer and most of fall before more episodes.
I can’t stand that.

343i is not active in the forums, which is a bummer. That’s a major reason why so many things are unclear.

Welp, 10 Episodes this initial 1 season, and future seasons haven’t been decided yet, as far as I know. It all depends on how well recieved Spartan Ops is, and if people are willing to pay money for it. ( I can already see it; 2100 MSP for a new season.)

It’s not even the fact they say nothing on the forums, THAT I understand to an extent…
But the fact this hasn’t been mentioned ANYWHERE is ridiculous, I’m not going to go overboard on this, because it isn’t catastrophic that I can’t have ever-so-slightly different missions to play…
It’s just the fact that we didn’t hear about this from 343i through an announcement, or through a bulletin, but through an article with a screenshot of a games manual from someone else entirely…

I’m guessing the break is to allow them to polish some new locations for the missions to take place. That said, it would have been nice if they announced this earlier.
There is one month left in 2012 of course there not going to release one full season in the space of 3 weeks as well as the current season being released at the same time…
