and thank you

oh yeah pls vote

even though the forge maps were gray and visually unappealing I have to say they were at least decent to play on unlike the shipped ones.

I’ve played on so many forge made maps that I am sure that I just immune to the amount of greyness. I bet that when I come back to visit Reach after Halo 4 comes out, I’m going to be like “WTF?!”

I hated the forge maps. IF they decide to do some forge maps, at least make it to where we can change the color and texture of the object. Say I have one of those blue walls, I go to texture, pick rock, go to colors, pick red. Now I have an appealing red rock. =D This is what they need to do. At least color.

I have no problem with forged maps as long as they have their own playlist. Not only do they look and feel similar, they can be very boring to play.

One of the reasons I enjoy Squad DLC over any other playlist is because it has no forge maps. I am really hoping that forged maps stay in their own playlist in Halo 4.

I prefer grey and dull than coloured and unbalanced maps.

I doubt Halo 4’s dub of Forge World will have pure grey objects, but I seriously wouldn’t mind it compared to the above suggestion.

have to agree with you on that one!

btw they’re gonna have a forge world in halo 4?

The only exception to this is “Temple” from the “Tempest Map”, that forger worked very hard on that beauty.

Well forge is confirmed, but there is no word on a forge world. I want a Forge Planet. Heck, I’ll just settle for Requiem.

I personally would rather them give us a forge world via dlc, this way the forge world wouldn’t have as many restrictions in size, plus you got the fact that people who don’t want to pay for such things won’t have to pay for it but the forgers would so I think thats the best way to do that.

Yeah, I’m with Kalmari one this…
Yes I love very colorful maps, and hate plain gray colored maps, but at the same time, I also like having maps that are fun to play on. I say forge maps should have their own play lists. Because just saying “NO MORE FORGE MAPS” is like walking up to a community member and taking a dump on his plate, yeah it makes those of you who hate gray maps, and don’t want any more gray maps, but it also pisses off those people who work hard on their maps to make them playable in hopes of seeing their map make it to match making. It’s better to try to please both sides of the coin, not just one side.

^THIS^

Plus people have to remember Halo Reach’s forge was the first time players could phase objects together; it was undoubtedly easier to have almost everything have the same color/texture. Hopefully because Halo 4 runs and improved engine we can phase objects of many colors and textures so we don’t have all grey maps.

I think the whole idea of seperating the forge maps from the standard maps is a good idea in theory, but in the long run it doesn’t work so well.

say for instance you want to play on a forge map, well if you want to play on the forge map you’ll have to go in the forge playlist whereas if you want to play the regular map playlist you’ll have to go to the regular playlist.

what this means is that in order for you to have access to some of the maps you love you’ll have to go into a completely different playlist in order to do so, gears of war 2 did a very similiar thing and I must say it was kind of boring after awhile.

because you chose to play on the map packs playlist it wouldn’t let you play on the shipped maps playlist which meant you would only get to play about half of the maps you wanted to play at any given time.

like I said the idea works in theory but it doesn’t work in actuality.

I say just fix the Forge problem of “only Forerunner materials” to work with and give the ability to work with Covenant and UNSC materials. Problem solved. Also, I agree, I don’t like how every map is grey either.

Yes, more real maps. And no remakes either. We need new maps all together.

i like both type of maps, blame bungie for the grey.

I agree, OP. I think one of the main contributions to the fail of Halo Reach was definitely the grey forge maps. I have yet to see a nice forge map made in Forge World.

In Halo 3, we had a nice variety of coloured objects, unique to their own maps with loads of different environments. Everyone played it and it never became boring because there was such a change between maps.

We definitely need a load of different maps with their own dedicated forge objects besides one main forge map.

Well i will agree that it does have a lot of grey i not that affected.

but yes we need more than just forerunner, like UNSC, etc

I don’t mind a little bit of Forerunner gray(maybe less Matte gray ala Reach). But there should be more forge options . Ideally would like all maps to have a large skybox with a particular theme and lots of forge parts. So each area has a unique and large forge pallet so we have lots of aesthetic variety.

Another option is again to have a large ForgeWorld with duplicate pieces of nearly all building materials.
Select Building Materials
*UNSC Wall
*Covenant Wall
*Forerunner Metal(Forgeworld style) Wall
*Forerunner Stone(Sandbox style) Wall
