No more DDos'ing? :) Can anyone confirm this

I heard on twitch tv that you cant Hostboot/DDos/Hit people offline on the Xbox One. Cheating was a huge problem in H3 and still is. If that is the case then Thank God and Halo is truly saved.

Yes, thank the patches.

OMG IF THIS IS TRUE THEN THAT IS ONE LESS EXTREME PROBLEM 2 DEAL WITH? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? HALO IS TRULY SAVED.

I would be happy if a person from 343 confirmed this

Why do they need to confirm what is common sense?

Yeah man. Dedicated servers means no more peer to peer connections, which means no standby, no ridiculous host boost, less options to cheat, no IP address stealing, or force hosting.

None of that crap.

Thank Jesus I had no idea. Now they have no excuses at all 2 not put in 1-50 Ranking System

The only thing that you may still get it is DDos attacks, those are not limited to hoopers.

Now we can see people fight like REAL! men.

Yep the reign of cheaters will be non-existent in Halo 3 on xbox one and I am super excited.

I’ve been host booted plenty of time on halo 3 in ranked team slayer. It’s the worst feeling ever when you are about to win a match and a cheater on the other team slowly host boots/Ip floods your entire team. There is nothing more frustrating than having losers like that get away with it.

Now they’ll have to fight fair and realize they aren’t even skilled enough to get to lvl 20. Also, if a player does manage to cheat they won’t last long on the Xbox One service. MS will be pretty quick to ban or stop any cheaters since the xbox one is their new service so they’ll keep a good eye on it. I’m sure their rep system and stuff has plenty of anti-cheat detections for people who are gunna try and cheat.

All I know is I play games like Battlefield on pc and I rarely see cheaters since the game is on dedicated servers and once one person calls them out they get banned from the server instantly.

I can’t wait to play Halo 3 on the xbox one since it will make the game feel like it was in 2007: cheat-free. Until then I will play Halo 3 but keep reminding myself all the lousy cheat and lag matches is only temporary. Soon we’ll be in paradise.

Yo N7r, wanna play Halo 3 or something?

A little tip, PMs are a better forum of asking someone that. NOT just randomly calling out someone’s name in a thread because they said something in thread. There’s rules for Callouts, and Posting posts that have nothing to do with the thread at hand.

Thanks for you time.

TO: There’s nothing preventing anyone from “fighting like Real Men” currently, and those who cheat will find other ways to farther prove how much of a cheater they are. Those who cheat in MP matches aren’t going to change their ways because of a change in how the multiplayer service is hosted, they’ll find ways to ruin everyone’s fun.

some bum could still ddos the Halo/Microsoft servers though.

> some bum could still ddos the Halo/Microsoft servers though.

Would be pointless though, they would end up booting themselves out of the game too.

Now we can have fun like normal.

I sound so ignorant here but … people DDos on Halo? I’ve had that random time where one guy on the enemy team has the worst connection/best connection and everyone else is having a bad time… that?

> The only thing that you may still get it is DDos attacks, those are not limited to hoopers.

Just nobody do something stupid to sick Anonymous on us, and we’ll be good

also I’m sure MS would go after them if they did or ban them from xbox live if they did that every time they were going to lose a match.

THIS!!! Can not wait! Ive lost count of how many times ive been booted or standby’d in high level ranked matches. I gave up on getting a 50 in dubs because of the constant cheating

Yeah… Lets not give them a reason to be doing anything at all with Halo.

Now, who says the a DDos attack is only meant to give a person/group of people the upper hand? I’ve heard of DDos attacks causing issues that deny service to EVERYONE. That’s the whole goal behind DDos attacks is to ruin everyone’s day, and deny service to everyone. This can be used to make it so no one can play, piss everyone off, which unless 343i and Microsoft openly says something, every single person with a chip on his/her shoulder toward 343i would with out question blame 343i for lack of service. OR, use it as a means to get player data/info.
