It is either to prevent -Yoink!- talking the enemy team OR to prevent you from coordinating and clearing your challenges easier. Either way it sucks man I miss talking with the guy I just experienced a silly encounter with and going “OOOHHHHH THAT WAS SO HILARIOUSLY STUPID, NICE”
Had the same though, there is a setting to turn on mic in a public room. By default the user cannot communicate to the group.
I agree, I want to insult/congratulate/converse with the other side of the aisle.
