I’ve been playing Halo 4 for maybe a month now, almost rank 80. One of the things that drew me to the multiplayer and Spartan Ops was the Commando armor. I never looked up how to unlock it, since I like the surprise or whatever when I finally unlock it. But I haven’t gotten it yet. So I looked up online how to unlock it and I was shocked. I need to master Dominion but it’s been removed from the playlist, as far as I can tell.
I guess what I’m getting at is, should 343 put Dominion back in the game so that all armor can still be unlocked or should they give Commando armor to those who weren’t able to unlock it?

Dominion was a great playlist that many and I enjoyed, but was sadly removed. I was very close to unlocking Commando armor. To answer your question, yes, I do think the playlist should be put back in Matchmaking. It’s a great gametype.
Dominion should be added back. It was fantastic and I almost had victory mastery on my old account before I lost the password to it and then almost had it again on this one. 343 really messed up the playlists by “improving” them. Things like oddball, king of the hill, and several other game types should be added back instead of being a chance to play in things like BTB.
even if dominion came back, it would just dilute the player bases in all the other gametypes, there are barely any people that play H4 MM anymore… I come on a Friday night expecting it to be somewhat packed like at its release, but nothing…

Halo 4 will never again have the population it had on release. This is mainly because people left due to how bad the game was on release and many never came back after the TU and weapon tuning updates.
Dominion is actually one of the most populated playlists when its comes into rotation. The only playlists that beat it in terms of population are BTB, SWAT and Team Slayer.
Dominion should never have been removed, simply due to the fact that it has commendations specific to the gametype. Without Dominion, the commendations cannot be completed.

I honestly don’t know what 343 was thinking when they removed Dominion. Why didn’t 343 give out the entire set rather than just the helmet? It’s not like we’re going to get the rest anytime soon.

How about take out throw down instead? Imagine how many people left because dominion wasn’t around anymore or don’t play much because of that.
I think that Dominion should come back in Squad DLC later this month. Or…maybe it could be incorporated into BTB? Either way, it should be possible to master every commendation at any given time. There shouldn’t be restrictions such as lack of a playlist to play it in.

What were they thinking by botching the playlists to begin with? Every other game I know of has a separate playlist for every single game mode.
I broke my arm last year and well that gave me enough time to get all the Dominion wins. It’s a shame they removed it although by the end I absolutely hated it.

Only four, actually. However, I do indeed agree that Commando should have replaced Venator BAYONET in the Champions Bundle. I think BAYONET looks terrible.
