I’ve scanned probably a good thousand posts, with multiple threads, and have yet to see a Mod post ANY replies. If I am wrong, I will admit it, but it seems like 343 have kind of forgotten how good they were in Reach, and went back to Bungie’s old “it’s my game, I’ll do what I want” attitude.
Moderators don’t work for 343 and can’t give an official response to anything.
They just moderate.
It is their game, they will do what they want, when you stroke to community’s -Yoink- to much you get Reach. And as for the mods, with the maturity and intellect most of the recent posts contain I wouldn’t bother with 99% of post launch threads for another week.
What is the point of official forums if 343 doesn’t read the forums for their own game? again, it seems like they are going back to the Bungie attitude.

Reach sucked until 343 took it over, because Bungie couldn’t care less about it. 343 took Reach over and made it a decently solid game, at least as much as they could given the crap they had to work with. This standalone product, Halo 4, is definitely not from the same company that took over Reach, because when 343 took Reach over, they looked to the players to see what to do to enhance the gameplay and make it fun again. They aren’t doing that now, not with their own “perfect” game. Bungie 2, aka 343 Studios, needs to look to its roots to keep Halo 4 from being another Reach.

You mean the attitude that made Halo’s CE-3 great?
Don’t get me wrong, community input is great, and even though you don’t see them they are looking.
Community control would render Halo 4 another reach.
Bungie listened to the community in making, listened to the community during the beta, then drop a giant term on us when they basically let mob rule dictate what they put into the game.

I’m talking about the “this game is perfect, you all just suck” attitude, this game is obviously going to have some flaws, as did Halo 3. Bungie fixed their crap early, and there wasn’t anything major after that, but with this and black ops 2 coming out so close to each other, 343 is gonna lose some hardcore sales to BO2 if they keep the game as it is.

Personally, I think that it is more of EA’s fault, EA owns part of 343, and everyone knows what other game EA controls…yep…CALL OF DUTY. EA needs to keep their grubby hands off of Halo, let 343 do their own thing with this, and EA needs to get back to killing the CoD series, leave Halo alone.

I’m not sure if you’re serious but if you are… Microsoft owns halo and 343i is part of Microsoft… Not EA… So I’m not sure what you’re on about.

Pretty much this. I’ll be honest though, I’ll scrap about +2/3 of the potential posts I make and just move on to something else.
while mods don’t work for 343i i know what you mean, and just because they don’t comment doesn’t mean they don’t look, i make mods for a game called minecraft and i don’t comment much but i do check them quite often.

One does not just post about the lack of moderator posts. There is great evil here, that does not sleep, and their Great Eyes are ever watchful.

To be fair, I can’t blame the Mods for silence on the majority of threads here.
It is better for the mods to just be mods sometimes. If they get involved in topics like ‘Nerf this’ or ‘This kind of thing is -Yoink-’ or ‘343 is stupid’ then anything they say will be weaponized by people in some way eventually. An honest opinion from a Moderator being friendly is plenty of flamewar fuel and trollbait.
There is a lot of criticism and even a little whining going on here. They shouldn’t have to involve themselves in the petty parts of our little forum community. They just have to keep things clean and make sure no one crosses any lines.
A long time ago a Moderator on a website far, far away said “Sometimes you even gotta let the forum burn for a while. They you swoop in and clean up. You can’t stop people determined to pour their crap all over the place. They’ll come back forever if they really want attention. You just gotta sit back and keep things moving by the rules”
So I like to assume all Moderators worth their salt understand that a little bit.
