No moar changez to haloz!!!!1!!

> Its sad that the people who whine without reason are the only ones being given attention. The Br never left halo it was just single shot in reach. Anyone who knows anything about guns or even played a few other shooters would know that. Even if the br was removed from a halo game thats not the only weapon in the game. Its not the only thing that makes halo… halo. For must people this will probably go in one ear and out the other.

Its very ignorant of you to imply that DMR=BR.

> but don’t go making threads hating on the people that didn’t like what they saw, because they’re entitled to an opinion aswell.

The word “opinion” does not make you immune to criticism. That goes for both sides, but people are seriously taking their distrust for 343i way too far, and it’s getting ridiculous.

Not all change is good.

If 343 announced tomorrow that they would get rid of Guns entirely and make the campaign not even about Master Chief, I’m guessing you’d have a problem with it.

Yes, Halo does need to evolve, but “Don’t fix what’s not broken.” Keep the core aspects the same while changing the less-important things to keep it new.

When you add possibly Game-Breaking things like Perks, Loadouts, and Armor Abilities to a beloved franchise, you can bet your -Yoink- that the hardcore fans are going to be pissed. There is no need for these things in a system that already works fine.

It is a different gun, but the gameplay is pretty much the same. Which is why I don’t get people who freaked out when the br was confirmed.

Fun fact armor abilities were in halo 2. I wonder how many of these “hardcore fans” you speak of know this.

The gameplay (especially on launch) was vastly different in Reach than it was in either Halo 2 or Halo 3. Even in zero bloom games it functions quite a bit different than the BR. I agree though, making a fuss that the BR is confirmed is just stupid. They had to have known, a medium-long range utility weapon has been in every single Halo game.

Please elaborate. I played 2000+ games of H2 matchmaking and never saw one.

yeah MLG community don’t condone whining, the forums over there is just like the ones over here. There are trolls and -Yoinks!- in each forum which gives each community a bad reputation.

Anyway, the timing thing is your fault the MLG community is trying harder to actually get the power weapons? It’s like giving you a sniper and not using it, you have the power to time it why not do it?

one more thing, people did stop playing the game since Reach, it was so bad that people changed to other games and are waiting for H4.

Developers are supposed to listen to people’s feed back, so they can update it so the majority of the community can enjoy a better experience. look at iOS, Android, the games you buy on their market gets updated all the time.

> I’m sick of fighting with tryhards over powerweapons, so I’m glad that the respawns on said items won’t be predictable, serious countdown is horrid regardless of what playlist you play because people time shotty’s, swords, sniper (MLG), Rockets (MLG, etc… Etc…)

Since when is it so hard to look at the time when you grab a weapon and subtract 2:00 minutes off of the game clock to know when it comes back? Since when is it a bad thing to reward players who have spent time with the game to learn all of these things. IMO the more consistent times the better. If everyone knows when the sniper spawns then everyone has a fair chance to get it.

You sir, are a god (someone who uses their brain) among men (Halo players). As long as bloom isn’t in, I’m fine. Anything else, I CAN ADAPT, AND THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE DOING INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING.

I get sick of coming here to discuss how excited I am, to be greeted by countless hate threads. If this keeps up, which I’m sure it will, I’ll probably soon stop coming here altogether.

Why does everyone here refer to criticism as “hate”. That bugs the hell out of me.

Only in campaign as the arbiter the cloak you could turn on and off. Theres a bunch of stuff halo had in its campaign that are just late coming to matchmaking and customs. Somethings are still not there. Which I guess will be a never ending trend.

For all of us MLG players out there, We know our opinion is more important than yours and its a fact. Reach was terrible, and it’s sad to think that you thought it was great, OP. The reason all of us MLG players are concerned is because we are tired of seeing CoD or BF rip off attempts and want halo to go back to the competitive multiplayer game it once was. It is the players like you who do all the crying about how you want the game to be easier because of how terrible you are at it that ruins the game for all of us who enjoy a challenge. Why don’t you go play a different game instead of ruining Halo for the rest of us. Yes, the game has some casual gamer qualities, and that is fine. But to think that your opinion is more important than ours is crazy. We have been playing game for years and you try it a few times because were tired of camping in a corner on CoD. So don’t tell us MLG players to stop crying because if you look at the amount of people that still play Reach, it is pathetic in comparison to the amount of people that played H2 and H3 in the amount of time they were out. Reach was a down right disaster because it tried too hard to be like CoD, and if you thought it was so great, then stay away from Halo and go play CoD.

Since when did the highlighted items display characteristics of Halo? Since Reach came out, which is when people stopped caring about Halo. See the connection?

The problem is that Reach doesn’t follow the characteristics of Halo. Halo is a game of complete balance where your skill decides how well you will do, not your perks or loadouts. You have to work to get better at the game, not just get handed loadouts that will help you do better against other loadouts. Sure in Reach there is still skill involved, but the fact is that loadouts diminish that skill by quite a bit. It was introduced in Reach as an attempt to bring in the casual gamers that enjoy CoD and BF3.

The fact is that loadouts just don’t mesh with Halo. Halo 1, 2, 3 were the golden days of Halo. You can ask just about anyone who has played all three of those games and they will tell you that those were the best Halo games. Now Reach, everyone has pretty much shunned at this point. The entire Halo community talks about all of the faults it has and why they don’t like it. What’s the difference that it brought in to the Halo series? These loadouts, that’s the issue.

Loadouts destroy the feel of Halo. It makes the game fit in to other shooters such as CoD and BF when the game needs to stand out. You can say that we’re just whining, complaining, whatever. The fact is that our feedback matters in this community and it shows with the decline of the Halo series since Reach’s release. If people embraced the loadout system, Reach would have been much bigger and a huge success throughout the Xbox community just as all the other Halo’s had been. But I can say without a doubt that the majority of true Halo fans (By true, I mean been there since the beginning with Halo CE) don’t like the CoD/BF feel of Halo anymore and would like to see the old Halo back on its throne of shooters for consoles.

I agree with this 90%. I loved Halo 3, but I liked the changes they added to Reach. It was cool how they replaced equipment with AA’s. Also I enjoyed the credit system because it gives you more of a point to play the game. My other 10%, is that I just don’t want Halo to change so much that it’s not recognizable. For example, the look of the game (Master Chief) has an artistic combination of those Halo: Legends (anime episodes for Halo) that 343 made. I enjoyed learning more about the Halo Universe, it just didn’t feel like Halo: Legends had anything to do with Halo artistically. The futuristic look they’re looking for, is not really futuristic, it’s just different. The BR scope for instance, looks like a reflex scope from Black Ops. I know that Halo is still in its production status, but I have high hopes for this new game, and 343. Halo Reach was supposed to be a different game. But that was Reach. This is Halo 4. Master Chief, for gods sake, is coming back! Could we at least take half a step back and continue with the major video gasms from the older games, while continuing in adding things that make Halo Halo.

> Don’t by the game, and save us all a headache.

Sounds like a great marketing idea.

I don’t care but Halo 4 should have 1-50 ranking system. I mean the arena divisions are pathetic… LOL all these bad kids getting onyx lol. I looked at some kids ranks on Halo 3 and I lmao on their trash service record… LOl reach was really catered to noobs. I seriously stopped caring about placing onyx and I was satisfied with placing gold because there is absolutely no incentive to win on Halo Reach’s arena lol. Onyx ahahahahahahahahaa … It’s really a joke unless you place single digit than onyx division is bad compared to what getting a 50 meant in H3. LOL so bring back 1-50 and have lots of ranked playlist sil vous plait.

You picked apart what I said, and placed it in a whole new context. What I said was that the trailer looked like Halo to me, end of statement. I said that the armor abilities that I listed weren’t a problem for me, end of statement. You somehow turned it into a big long run on sentence in your mind and perceived that I thought Reach was the greatest Halo title EVER. I never stated that, and the first line of my post was sarcasm. I saw the flaws in Reach, if you go and look up some of my older posts from the last year I’ve argued the flaws of the game. HOWEVER, Reach has amazing netcode. It works, and it works better then H3. I won’t go any further back in history, because there is no need to.

I have been around since the first Halo, and unlike most of the people who claim to be 10 year vets, I didn’t have mommy and daddy buy my first xbox, I did it all on my own. I bought an xbox and MULTIPLE copies of Halo CE, one was a stay at home copy, one was a backup copy for home (to lend to someone), one was a travel copy because I did take my copy, and my xbox with me to friends houses, LANS, etc etc. I didn’t pick up my first copy of Halo when I was 8, I was 18 and serving my country.

I too would like to see Halo return to the throne of FPS’s, but it’s not likely to happen considering how watered down the FPS console community is. There are soooo many titles to choose from, and there is no wrong choice. Halo is fun. CoD is fun. I’m sure Battlefield is fun. I personally loved Star Wars Republic commando, which was the most underrated FPS, squad based, game EVER. Seriously.

Stop thinking in terms of which title is best, instead think of which title is BEST for you.

> For all of us MLG players out there, We know our opinion is more important than yours and its a fact. Reach was terrible, and it’s sad to think that you thought it was great, OP. Lol, you make presumptions based on me. How cute.

Facts:
-I’m a ten year vet.
-I don’t live with mommy and daddy, I’ve made my way in the world, and served my country.
-I’m not a casual player, had you read some of my other posts, I’ve stated that I have made friends with MLG pro Naded, hell, if anything I’m an HLG tryhard, or at least I used to be. Nothing was funnier to me then whooping someone’s butt for five minutes, and then hiding on them to add insult to injury, and that meant I needed to time the power weapons. I just simply am tired of going back and forth over power weapons.

If a jerk like you or I goes into matchmaking and times the power weapons, what’s to stop us from camping on said weapons until they spawn? That’s not a seperation of skill, that’s just a seperation in knowledge of the game, and the “casual” gamer (who is the bread and butter for ANY online game) won’t have that knowledge, nor care. So really it comes down to a matter of desperation to vindicate ones self in the eyes of Randoms who are meaningless? I think not. I also believe you need to re-think your priorities when playing online. Being an overly competitive creep online only gets you DDoS’d or swatted, so what’s the point?

-Oh, and I can tell MLG what to do, because the majority of MLG players (i.e. the 10% of the real Halo community) are the ones crying incessantly. Not all MLG players, just the most conceited spoiled middle class brats that think they are entitled to an opinion when they aren’t exactly the target demograph.

Now think before you post next time, and don’t make assumptions, because it makes an -Yoink- only out of you.

> > > Lol, you’re going to act like these “MLG tryhards” are mentally challenged or something, right? Truth is, if you put a bunch of these ‘tryhards’ in a room with 343, and let them have TOTAL control with 343 being the medium to produce the game itself, we’d have the most diverse Halo experience to date. It would be playable at all levels of competitiveness thanks to the fact that 90% of the MLG community know their Halo inside and out, what to add to make a better experience, what not to add, what frustrated people in Reach and why, etc.
> > >
> > > You would see TRUE innovation.
> > >

> > >

Good point! I agree.
