> > So, apparently there are some people who weren’t happy with Reach. I mean, why not? Great game, great game indeed. And because some of these people were not happy with Reach, they are feeling oh-so insecure about Halo 4.
> >
> > Well, let’s think hard here people. Frankie said in an interview that 343 has been working on Halo 4 for three years. That means the process started back in 2009, for all you folks that can’t count
> >
> > With that being said, we are in the third year of production for this title, with a release date somewhere down the road, say…eight or nine months from the date of this post (3/6/2012). So I think it’s safe to say, considering that we got some juicey tid bits in that vidoc, that the string of complainers like these:
> >
> > "oh teh noez!!! there be’s moar AA’s in haloz!"
> > "this game doesn’t look like halo, blah blah blah"
> > and my personal favorite:
> > "I am an MLG enthusiast, and if 343 doesn’t pull through with this halo title, MLG is going to pull Haloz out of teh EMELGEEZ, I am sooper srious gaiz, I’m MLG, so my opinion is moar important"
> >
> > have come about. Alright, you folks don’t like what you saw, don’t buy the game. I’m serious. Go play something else. Fact is that if MLG tryhards think their voices and opinions matter more then everyone elses, then I think it would be a safe bet to say that Halo will probably be more enjoyable without the complaining of kids too hopped up on ritalin and adderol.

> > Everything I saw in the vidoc looked like Halo. Sprint doesn’t bother me, I prefer it most of the time in Reach. I’m glad the BR is back. It’s probably hit scan, if not, spread wasn’t that bad in H3. Jetpack is fine as well. I’m sick of fighting with tryhards over powerweapons, so I’m glad that the respawns on said items won’t be predictable, serious countdown is horrid regardless of what playlist you play because people time shotty’s, swords, sniper (MLG), Rockets (MLG, etc… etc…

You’re not the embassadors for the community, in fact, most of you whiny over priveledged middle class kids who live in nice neighborhoods, but find reasons to whine are frowned upon.

> Since when did the highlighted items display characteristics of Halo? Since Reach came out, which is when people stopped caring about Halo. See the connection?
>
> The problem is that Reach doesn’t follow the characteristics of Halo. Halo is a game of complete balance where your skill decides how well you will do, not your perks or loadouts. You have to work to get better at the game, not just get handed loadouts that will help you do better against other loadouts. Sure in Reach there is still skill involved, but the fact is that loadouts diminish that skill by quite a bit. It was introduced in Reach as an attempt to bring in the casual gamers that enjoy CoD and BF3.
>
> The fact is that loadouts just don’t mesh with Halo. Halo 1, 2, 3 were the golden days of Halo. You can ask just about anyone who has played all three of those games and they will tell you that those were the best Halo games. Now Reach, everyone has pretty much shunned at this point. The entire Halo community talks about all of the faults it has and why they don’t like it. What’s the difference that it brought in to the Halo series? These loadouts, that’s the issue.
>
> Loadouts destroy the feel of Halo. It makes the game fit in to other shooters such as CoD and BF when the game needs to stand out. You can say that we’re just whining, complaining, whatever. The fact is that our feedback matters in this community and it shows with the decline of the Halo series since Reach’s release. If people embraced the loadout system, Reach would have been much bigger and a huge success throughout the Xbox community just as all the other Halo’s had been. But I can say without a doubt that the majority of true Halo fans (By true, I mean been there since the beginning with Halo CE) don’t like the CoD/BF feel of Halo anymore and would like to see the old Halo back on its throne of shooters for consoles.
You picked apart what I said, and placed it in a whole new context. What I said was that the trailer looked like Halo to me, end of statement. I said that the armor abilities that I listed weren’t a problem for me, end of statement. You somehow turned it into a big long run on sentence in your mind and perceived that I thought Reach was the greatest Halo title EVER. I never stated that, and the first line of my post was sarcasm. I saw the flaws in Reach, if you go and look up some of my older posts from the last year I’ve argued the flaws of the game. HOWEVER, Reach has amazing netcode. It works, and it works better then H3. I won’t go any further back in history, because there is no need to.
I have been around since the first Halo, and unlike most of the people who claim to be 10 year vets, I didn’t have mommy and daddy buy my first xbox, I did it all on my own. I bought an xbox and MULTIPLE copies of Halo CE, one was a stay at home copy, one was a backup copy for home (to lend to someone), one was a travel copy because I did take my copy, and my xbox with me to friends houses, LANS, etc etc. I didn’t pick up my first copy of Halo when I was 8, I was 18 and serving my country.
I too would like to see Halo return to the throne of FPS’s, but it’s not likely to happen considering how watered down the FPS console community is. There are soooo many titles to choose from, and there is no wrong choice. Halo is fun. CoD is fun. I’m sure Battlefield is fun. I personally loved Star Wars Republic commando, which was the most underrated FPS, squad based, game EVER. Seriously.
Stop thinking in terms of which title is best, instead think of which title is BEST for you.
