Xbox one is fairly new.
Xbox one comes with a mic.

Tired of never hearing annother voice…
Untill a game ends and the opposite team is bagging.

So you either need a mic to play any mode.
Or large teams are muted ingame and can’t use party chat either.

edit
Thread was a social experiment, sucess.

Push the right button, get people upset.
Thread example: ‘forced play style’

This sounds like a terrible idea either way.

Lost my mic? Broke my included mic? Don’t want to use one or buy another one to play Halo 5? Yeah, no, -Yoink- that, I’m going to MCC or something else.

Large parties can’t communicate with a mic? Sure. Ruin the social experience for people. Have fun with that. Backlash from them is going to hurt.

Not a good idea… that would kill Halo in a heartbeat. Not many players in any game have mics. BTW, this is coming from a fellow mic user.

dude i think you might want to think this through again.

Sometimes people just don’t feel like talking. It might be stupid, but maybe they wanna just go with the flow of the match and see what happens. I use my mic whenever I have the opportunity to, and I already know this would piss a lot of people off, and we don’t want more of that to happen, do we?

Ew, no thanks. If you’re worried about communicating with your teammates, find a Spartan company and play with them.

Spartan Companies
Recruiting

Remember when we had real search preferance and could choose chatty? Yeah good ol days on Xbox 360 when games were way better and had more features than we have now with supposedly more powerful consoles.

No matter how much I personally like this idea as a competitive player, it’s a bad idea.

People whose mic eventually break would be screwed out of playing. Also, sometime people just want to chill and play, this would stop them from doing that.

I’m tired of constantly hearing a lot of languages and wish there was an English speaking only option.

I hear like 5-7 different languages through out the day and English comes up like 5-10% of the time. The thing I don’t get giving how common it is to speak English I don’t understand why there are so many solo people with a mic that speak a different language cause how often can they be matching some one with their language.

It literally got to the point I was hearing it and my brain was like I thing I understood that even though I had no clue.

Ever heard of the strong, silent type? Just because someone doesn’t talk doesn’t mean they’re a -Yoinky!- player. I used to be like that for 4 months after my crappy mic broke. Even so, it was paramount for me to take the extra initiative and contribute to my team without being prompted to do something.

Plus, being silent makes you one scary motherf----r when you’re with friends! >:D

EDIT: There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a mute brute.

Are you from Activision or EA? Because the only reason I could see someone suggest that idea is if you wanted Halo to tank and have people move to games without such a dumb restriction.

I never use my headset in MM anyway, I don’t really care for the win or the loss, just doing it for the RP, if my teammates get mad at me for lone wolfing in firefight, which I am incredibly good at, that’s their problem, not mine. Either way this idea in theory sounds like a good idea, but written on paper or done in practice this would pretty much turn Halo 5’s servers into a barren wasteland, so pretty much the same as it is now, just on fire. (Jk about that last part, just making a joke) But seriously though, bad idea.

No Mic=No Play??? What kind of drinks have you been drinking???

We’ve been over this. No. Terrible idea. No thank you.

Halo 5 already seems to have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. This idea would not only throw it into a grave but nail the coffin shut tight as well… No thanks!!

Zippy.

Not every Xbox one comes with a mic.

You really can’t stop me from using chat outside of game chat.

And even if you somehow can, I can just mute everyone and myself and accomplish the same thing.

If people don’t want to talk they shouldn’t have to. If you want people to use their mic OP then either join a spartan company, look in the recruiting thread or use the xbox clubs to find players that will.

I’m against using mics in games without party chat, I have a naturally high-pitched voice that’s embarrassing.

No, we should be able to play without a headset. I’m antisocial anyway…

Yeah, I’m with the consensus on this; there are just too many downsides to this idea. Plus, if you’ve ever been on xbl as a girl? Let’s just say that it’s not the friendliest place for those with more estrogen. Makes it even more surprising that I met my boyfriend in Halo 3.

You have officially lost your marbles. Please don’t do this. This is a very bad idea.
