The only media about Halo Wars Definitive Edition has been a trailer that was created using the games cut scenes. With a game coming out 7 days from now and there has not been one screen shot or game play video is a little unsettling. You would think they would of released a game play trailer or a few screen shots to show people the improvements to the game. Anyone else feel that it is a bit odd that a re-master of a game coming out in one week and we yet to see an actual gameplay screenshot or video?
Still looking forward to it big time, Halo Wars is one of my favorite games…I am not great at it, but I enjoy playing it and it something that is completely different and rare on console (RTS).
I would really enjoy a remaster, but do not get your hopes too high since they haven’t shown any gameplay. I mean if you “remaster” a game you want to show it off before release right ?
I think they are worried that they will smite it like infinite warfare since they are practically doing the same thing activision did. Package a remastered version of an older game in the series with a special edition of the new one. I think the reason that this is not as smited is since people can see it as them giving people a way to refresh on halo wars and practise for 2. I think our reaction to this is the opposite of the CoD community reaction was to their version of this. But I think microsoft is worried that if they advertise to much Halo wars De will have the same reaction of CoD remastered (because it is literally the same stratagey.)

to make pre orders, my reasoning is that they are playing it safe so people don’t realise that they are doing what activision did.

I probably figured you were looking forward to halowars DE, many people are. It’s just that to my knowledge the only way to get halo wars DE is to preorder halowars 2.

HW2 has two versions standard (just the game) and Ultimat (game, Return to ark, Season pass and Halo wars DE)
They redone the first game so the pc players can play the first game. There releasing it on xbox one as well because it’s not that hard with UWP. I’m pretty sure they said somewhere they may release it as a stand alone after hw2 releases.
I guess for me, I just want to see what it looks like with the fresh coat of paint. I am also wondering how performance will be with the DE version of the game on Xbox One. I am hoping for a smooth/free from screen tearing remake.

It would seem that the CoD community is upset about a lot more than just the remake being packaged with infinite warfare (or whatever it is). I think people are more pissed that they see the CoD4 remaster, grounded in reality military shooter, being bundled with the current one, which is set in a sci fi future. I think activision pushed CoD to far, and now the community is getting really vocal about it. Halo’s growing pains pale in comparison.
Halo Wars DE isn’t a remastered, if it was it’d say Halo Wars remastered or something similar, It’s going to get the Halo 3 and 4 treatment from MCC with just some minor improvement to the graphics and slightly improved HD and maybe better fps. The definitive edition is just refining the game slightly and giving you all the DLC.
