You get points for killing marines and Spartans. You get medals for killing AI, specially if they are bosses. But why not for destroying the enemy’s core?
Should there be any rewards for destroying cores? What do you think?

Maybe make it a Legendary medal. Or lots of commendation points after certain amount of core destruction medals. Just give a bigger incentive for more team members to participate in the core destruction. Just saying.
You would think there’d be a medal, especially considering how vocal Palmer was about core destruction. “We can still destroy their core!” Yea way to keep the hope alive…when half the team has dropped out and you’re 3+ REQ levels behind the other team.

Exactly. How about this? If you destroy the core, you get automatic first place. Or at least an amount of points that lets you end in the first top 3.
If they added some kind of bonus for destroying the core might stop the games that just become camp fests as one team pulls away in reqs and just kill farms the other.

Nah. It’d be just like one team putting the kill shot on the boss that the other team spent 5 minutes working on, except it’s your teammates stealing your work. Securing the win is good enough.

It wouldn’t change anything. You’d get farmed for 20+ minutes until the other team gets bored, then they core you, as is what happens now. Except in your scenario, they get rewarded even more so for doing it.
You get a medal for killing enemy Spartans in their core room, but do you get anything for actually destroying the core? Nope!
I never did understand this and never will.
The closest thing to a medal that you can get is XP points and a couple REQ packs if you join a Spartan company. One of their commendations is getting core destruction victories in Warzone.
Why did 343 do alot of things in this game ? who knows but lately it seems they have been listening so hopefully some of this stuff gets corrected and improved come H6
I often wondered why also. All you get is a core destruction victory added to your stats. You get a medal for almost everything in the game except core destruction. I guess 343 thought it reward enough for winning the game getting extra XP/RP.

It would really make sense. Teamwork and objective play should be rewarded more.
