I’m rank 97 and I have unlocked any of the magnums (tactical, extended mag or gunfighter) or the Halo 2 BR yet.
This might just be my bad luck or maybe I’m not opening packs right. Also are any of the other magnums even any good?
It could be just how you open up the packs. How are you opening them? Always want to go bronze, silver, then gold!
Have u finished the sliver to gold req pack grind yet? If so it will take some time and patience for those Gold packs to give u magnums and the Halo 2 BR
Halo 2 BR was one of my last gold pack unlocks at SR143 I think, I didn’t get the magnums until pretty late as well. It is all luck of the draw though so good luck, and if you want them faster you’ll need to learn to enjoy WZFF, also WZFF will give gold packs when you complete the commendations.

Go from bronze, to silver, to gold packs and just pray to RNGesus.
The extended magnum is just as powerful as a standard magnum, but has a larger clip so is better, objectively, than the standard. The gunfighter does less damage, has shorter range, but is quicker drawing and faster firing. It’s nifty, but weak, in my opinion. The tactical magnum is nearly identical to the standard magnum, but is suppressed and has a “classic” scope. I like it, personally. I enjoy using it in conjunction with a suppressed SMG and advanced sensors for a stealthy “ODST” feel. It may not be the most powerful or effective loadout, but it’s something I indulge, on occasion.

I am rank 97 or 98 (can’t really remember) and I also don’t have any magnum variants or halo 2 BR. I opened my packs in order from bronze and I am currently in gold as i have finished all rare and below reqs.
I’m one-forty-something and I just recently got all of the weapons… granted, I did do the Bronze, Silver, then Gold pack thing late in my SR.
I didn’t start off doing to bronze, silver gold but ive recently started. Sounds like you don’t get them till pretty late on in the Spartan Ranks
As others have said clearing out the Bronze and Silver unlocks first helps your chances. We’ve all had that elusive loadout weapon problem. I myself didn’t get the DMR till SR 110+. Also I like the Gunfighter mag because of it’s rapid fire ability, similar to a Carbine. While it’s nice, you’re not really missing out on much.
