Team Snipers.Ah yes, Team Snipers. The playlist that hasn’t seen a change since Pinnacle was taken out half-a-year ago. (As of October 4th, Atom was removed from Team Snipers without an announcement. Yea…it’s stupid.)
So what are the 343 industry members doing in those cubicals or offices or whatever they have?
Do they just have too many things to do in too little time?..Do they just not care about Team Snipers perhaps because they lack the skill to use a sniper?
“We” have been asking these questions with nary a response and I would love to know…when are playlist changes going to be made?
Also where is the sense of fun in the Halo community. There is no fun or interesting games that someone created for the Team Snipers playlist. It’s just ‘Team Snipers’ and ‘Snipers Pro’.
Why not add a gametype where players spawn with two sticky grenades instead of a frag. Call it Sticky Snipers That would be fun and interesting.
OR as someone suggested on this thread we could have objective gametypes with sniper primary.
OR someone also suggested a game variant where you can only use noscopes. (My favorite idea).
OR a sniper variant with elites instead of spartans.
None of these ideas have been implemented into snipes or even been tested before and I fail to see why.
I swear if I could devote all my time to making Snipers the best playlist in the game I would. So why doesn’t someone in the industry who could actually make a difference feel the same?
That would NOT be fun and interesting. What snipers need is to be stripped of small maps like uncaged, be replaced with GOOD big maps (NOT hemorrhage) and have snipers removed and snipers pro be the primary gametype. Because with normal snipers, the whole match is a dang grenade/pistol fest.

Some good maps for sniping would include Highlands and Tempest.

Personally, I would like to see an increase in the weighting of the dlc maps and a decrease in the weighting for the forge world community ones such as for team slayer.

If you played snipes at all you’d see my side of the story.There’s no variation in the playlist. It’s the same maps over and over again.
Half the maps people hate because they suck at them. For example Reflection and Powerhouse. And half the maps you don’t ever see. (Highlands, tempest, breakpoint)
There needs to be variation. There needs to be updates to make it fun. Everyone who’s dedicated to Snipes needs more excitement or they’re going to eventually stop playing.
Investing the time to please the dozen or so people who are stubborn enough to only play a single playlist is stupid. The vast, vast majority of people do not play snipers enough to notice the “lack of variety,” because to them, there isn’t one. 343i has much better things to do than pander to a tiny percentage of community.
If the lack of variety is eating away at you, maybe you should, you know, play something other than snipers for once.

Whenever i play team snipers, at say, uncaged, I usually go 20 and 5 or something. I see your side of the story, I just KNOW from a huge amount of snipes that maps like uncaged and throwing grenades in team snipers is TERRIBLE.

Grenades are part of the game. Uncaged is one of the most if not THE favorite map of sniper players. You want the game to just be one map and one weapon? Then you must be easily amused.

I’ll have you know that I have almost a full list of friends of just people that snipe and that are good at it. There are hundreds of decent snipers out there that can vouch for my opinion. Every SINGLE one of my friends would have my back on this thread. So the fact that you think Snipers is okay the way it is and I’m a single outcast makes you dead wrong.

And since you’ve surrounded yourself with people with similar interests, you have the illusion that more people care about it than actually do. I’m sure I could find a couple hundred people to sign a petition for a rocket race playlist, but it doesn’t mean anything.

Well you are just a ball of sunshine aren’t you? This would require the smallest bit of effort on 343’s part. The maps are made and out there. They just need to be put in matchmaking.

You’re saying that not enough people play team snipers enough to care about changes to it. Well why are there playlist changes being made on October 4th to the DLC playlists, Team Classic, Bro Slayer and Team Objective. ALL of which are less popular than Snipes I assure you.
Just putting this out there. I’m a BigTeam Slayer fan. I really enjoy the few times the voting comes along to a sniper game type and no one leaves because of it. Sniping is very fun. The only reason I don’t play team sniping/slayer is of two small facts. Small maps. Forge maps.
Small maps are nice, for fast paced aim shoot, hope to be alive after words situations.
Forge is great and all, but seeing a blue/red player peeping around a corner of a forged wall is too damn easy to see, even in a normal slayer game.
I like original life-like large maps. There you can sneak around, blend in, snipe, confuse the enemy, even shoot through a few tree branches.
Lately, with the extended feel of MLG players joining BigTeam, I have fun as long as the playing field stays even. As in no one team has most to all power weapons/vehicles. This is where I like Team Sniping. Everyone is evenly matched.
That would be fun and interesting.
