no living dead/grifball playlists

One thing that really takes the competitive “Halo” out of Reach is the inclusion of Grifball and Living Dead playlists. In fact, Living Dead has the largest player count due to all the boosters and ignorant children.

Halo 4 has to look towards the franchise’s roots and place the slayer and objective variants in the spotlight. People need to see Halo 4 as a “Halo game”. It is not about stupid infection or Grifball. I am fine with these appearing in Rumble Pit and Action Sack, but some people only play Reach for these playlists.

Make the focus of Halo 4 multiplayer on slayer and objective games.

Uh, it is called having fun. You know why most people play Living dead, it is becuase they WANT to! Living dead was also the most popular weekly double exp event in Halo 3. Living dead is fun and people like it, I would be VERY UPSET if Living dead was not given a playlist in Halo 4.

As for Grifball, it isn’t as popular but I am glad we have it.

See, Bungie knows how to do things right. They made playlists for people who wanted to play ANYTHING they wanted. That is something 343i should take into account.

Also, plenty of people play slayer and BTB. Wanting to remove infection and Grifball becuase they are popular and more Halo fans are having fun in them than slayer is plain stupid and a bad move.

They should both be in action sack. Casuals will play action sack, and won’t notice their playlist is gone, they will just flock to the new AIO casual playlist.

They should go back to being double exp.
Besides, everyone knows Living Dead in Reach is broken, because Bungie and 343i were to lazy to fix it. People only play Living Dead because when you are a Human, you can exploit the map and kill Zombies all day.
Sad to see it reduced to this. Living Dead and Griffball used to be special in Halo 3 because they were rare in MM.

Now, they are just farming/stat-padding playlists.

You aren’t getting it, people are playing in those playlists cause they WANT TO. Why should people be forced to play playlists they don’t want to? That is really a selfish and arrogant thing to want.

Easy solution - Don’t play it.

What’s that? You already don’t? Well, why should you care then? It’s not directly affecting you so don’t say it is. People like to have a little fun rather than just full on competitiveness.

Just b/c it’s not what YOU like or where YOU think it should be doesn’t make it irrelevant or stupid. I enjoy Living Dead for the survival portion or slyly catching a human.
I got a legit Infection Spree, first one ever, the other week and it was worth every attempt.

You don’t like it - Simply don’t play it. Arguing against it otherwise is just a wasted argument. It’s been popular since it was brought to the series. Deal with it.

Thank you, someone who gets it.

OP, people deserve to have the right to play whatever playlists they want. Not everyone likes slayer or ranked or Invasion. So what?

But I know I would HATE to be forced to play such god awful playlists as arena, And casuals make up 90% of Reach so if they want infection, they are getting infection.

I myself <3 playing infection and if it was taken away so 2 people could get more people in their area playlist I would be *********. (Fill in whatever word you want to).

Because everyone cares about being competitive. If people want to play Living Dead or Grifball, let them. Play the playlists YOU want to, problem solved.

I don’t know when you started playing Halo, OP, but Infection has been around since H2.

Gametypes like infection are exactly what puts the “Halo” in Halo 1/2/3/Reach. Every FPS has your typical deathmatch and CTF, very few have the custom games that Halo does.

They should be weekend playlists. It is a joke they are permanent playlists.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure your FIRST Halo was Reach. Infection has ALWAYS been the most liked playlist becuase most people want to have FUN. NOT, play copedtitive slayer.

What is a “real playlist”? Did you maybe think that other people may not like “pro slayer” or “MLG OMG I’M SO HARCORE slayer”? NO, most people want to have fun.

Please be considerate of other people and how they like to play the game they paid for. There is more than 1 way to play Halo. I am glad it offers variety and is not like another generic shooter.

How are two playlists taking competitiveness out of Reach?

No one is forcing you to play them, the gamers who play Living Dead/Grifball enjoy it and don’t want to play other playlists at that time.

You take their playlists away, they come into the Competitive playlists, die a lot, loose a lot of games, you will blame 343i for a bad matchmaking system.

Wow someone’s angry. Everyone has a right to have fun playing Halo. If Living dead is what makes them happy more power to them. You have no right to dictate what they should play. Get over yourself please.

Lol no my first game was Halo 2 although I never had the original xbox online, and I didn’t say get rid of the playlists completely. But the sorry unfun state that Reach infection is and the amount of people playing it shows the state of the fanbase left over from what Reach originally was, and what the other games always were.

The focus of Halo 4 (a FPS game) needs to be slayer and objective.

And you can defend these people all you want but lets be honest, it is probably mainly filled with 10 year olds and people who played a few games of whatever, got destroyed and instead of trying to improve just play infection.

Also I enjoyed Halo 3 infection, but your comment about infection always being the favourite playlist is wrong.

Having fun is the goal of any video game. Not competition. You may not like Grifball but many other people do.

This. I remember I got so excited for Double XP weekends, and since Grifball and Living Dead have been made playlists, they’ve lost their value, weren’t appreciated as much, and Living Dead is so unbalanced and unfair now that it’s not even worth playing. Halo 4 should go back to community-forged maps and the different zombie game types.

Living Dead kinda sucked in Reach because thrlere were NO custom maps. Like that Rigor Mortis one on Cold Storage, or the Infected Manor. They kept us intertained. This is also partly Forge’s fault because every building piece is the same damn color, where in Foundry we had a variety of colors and textures.

I still liked Reach Living Dead though. What does it matter to you? Odds are, it won’t be ranked so no more boosting. But even if it is, why should it matter to you? If you’d be happy without it, the solution is to not play it. 343 is not going to remove the most played playlist by the community because of boosters.

Again you don’t seem to get it, people are playing Living dead and Griffball becuase they WANT to. They DON’T want to play Slayer, THEY DON’T want to play areana. And it is selfish to try and remove 2 popular playlisyt so you can make playlist people don’t like boost a little bit in population.

People have the right to play Halo how they want. Removing these playlists would make Halo worse. If you don’t like it, deal with it.

It doesn’t matter how old you are or how new you are, everyone should be able to play Halo their way. You are describing the fanbase quite rudley.

Living dead is my favorite playlist and I am 17 years old and I am a dedicated Halo fan.

As much as I love Infection and the Living Dea playlist, I have to say that I agree.

> If you don’t like it, deal with it.

Hypocrite much?

What if 343 actually DID take it out? 343 could easily say that to anyone who complained.

If 343i took it out, many fans would rally and want it back. Like it or not, 343i is as much as part of a halo game as FF and slayer. Infection is one of the most played custom games in Halo 3 and in Halo Reach. I probably played 2,000 custom infected games in Halo 3.

What OP is suggesting is highly ironic. he wants to prevent people from having fun so he can force people to play what he wants.

It makes me mad and I am truly worried for this community if everyone is so selfish as to make Halo worse and more and more like cod.
