Iv been playing H5 since launch and its just 100% competitive all the time. I just play games for fun these days and don’t get any real kick out of that. Is there any point in someone like me staying with the series anymore? Or is Halo going to be competitive only from now on?
I don’t think the lack of Social is planned, it’s more a case of 343 rushing the game out and giving us bare bones playlists, they haven’t implemented them in DLC because it’s clear that they weren’t expecting the tide of negative feedback and they are genuinely having to build from scratch the modes that they thought we wouldn’t notice had been cut.
I would wait, there will likely be Fiesta/Griffball etc in the future at some point.
They’ll be adding things like Oddball and Grifball in Febuary. I’d stick around, but that’s just me.
There are going to be more social games coming out, the sooner the better.
Hibeslty ibjust want truely unranked playlists for all the gamemods, coming on and ranking just seems like a chore and then getting shouted at over the mic if you have a bad game just sucks
So pathetic. Features that are staples at launch are needed to be worked in months after launch.
Just play in a party then, randoms very rarely contribute to the game in any meaningful way.

All my friends quit after about a month
Look for a Spartan Company to join then, there are plenty out there.

I’m in one and have left a decent ammount of request but no one ever adds me.
You might need to find a different one. Look for ones more socially focused, that aren’t involved in competition. I’m certain there are numerous out there. It may take a couple tries, but I’m confident you’ll find one you’d like.
Play some MCC
Nah, the game is still open for casual fun.

Good one
Things will definitely be more “social” after June and the first planned wave of content is fully released.
Until then, yes, H5’s core is very competitively-minded, and no, you can’t play an intensely competitive game all nonchalant casually (and feel like having fun), BUT, try to play a couple Warzone games throughout the week and definitely a couple hours into the weekend playlists.
Though Warzone isn’t competitively balanced, it sure is competitively fought, and the new REQ energy leveling makes the endgame more fun, even if the beginning and middle might be curb-stomps. Just having a friend to play this with can make all the difference.
Weekend playlists, which look to have double XP from now on, are just flavours of the week and for sure to find more of the casual minded. Sure, there will be more “intense” than others throughout the weeks but overall, the weekend playlists will attract from all hoppers (which will make for the most casual online experience).
Just don’t outright leave or put entire weeks between game sessions. Keep the gameplay fresh in your mind so that it’s the strategies that beat you, not the tactics

Well, if you enjoy the game, play it.
Personally, Warzone feels less competitive than Arena does, and there isn’t a ranking system. I’m not a huge fan of competitive gameplay, but I enjoy arena due to the fast PvP action. Warzone, on the other hand, still has a fast pace, but feels less competitive.

I hate warzone with a passion I want to play arena but it just causes so much frustration
I’m having a hard time understanding your problem. You’re saying you just want to play Halo to have fun, so what is preventing you from doing that? A ranking system? If you’re playing a video game, the number one reason should be to have fun. If you’re not, then why don’t you play something else?
Have you tried Warzone Assault? Its more like Arena.

I asked myself same questions kind of I decided to stay end of day it’s been my game for 10+ years but I get what your saying week by week it’s arder to want to sign on with I see it as lobby issues, no mica or all in parties so unless I always have four makes it unfair to the guys going +10 and a guy goes -10f+ so that’s on games end. Also the ranking basically matches COD it’s just how much time do you want to use on Halo for that rank. People didn’t get last 2 req packs from bundle that wasn’t cool, I’d take a pack over forge and grift ball… I see weekly playlist but they should already be there so idk if someone dropped the ball or they just aren’t really into listening to community very unsure, I’d think the same if this month they just keep same format it’s boring and might as well play games that give better armor and rankings if halo is going to stick to levels up by just playing 24/7 to get 100+. In the end your choice sir, I’d sleep on it bud best of luck
