Wouldn’t it be easier to be able to spot a hacker/cheater if their in-game rank was visible? It would probably spur a red flag right off the bat if a 50 is spotted in the game lobby. Unless your watching killcams(if they are even integrated) how can we even tell if someone is abusing exploits in the game unless we are somewhat familiar with the exploit or follow them around. No in-game ranks make it more difficult to spot who the cheaters are then looking them up on you pc/tablet/phone individually.
P.S. I’m not a rocket scientist either…
Considering the huge backlash of whiners about how CSR isn’t visible in-game, I’m assuming that there would be an equally huge amount of people that care enough to cheat.

“H’okay”
I’m sure one of the reasons was that 343i don’t want that “Halo 3 Proaccounts.com” problem where people made money by boosting and selling accounts with Bungies own game.
The site was very famous and the people over there must have earned thousands of dollars during the lifespan of Halo 3. The site was closed later by MS I believe. By googling the site you can still find remains of it from the search results (or simply use the cache).
And I’m sure that’s why Bungie later decided NOT to implement this system in Reach as well.
And 343i will do anything that this won’t happen again. And I can understand this
Cheaters/boosters are going to do what they do no matter what. For example I played a game of regicide a week or so ago and 3 players were obviously helping each other out. I still almost beat them even with their cheating, I did beat one of them.
I want visible CSR in match making just so I can see where I am at and strive to get better.
Thanks to all cheaters, and boosters for ruining in game ranks for us.
> Cheaters/boosters are going to do what they do no matter what.
No. They will be significantly less without a visbile rank. That’s why people cheat. For an ego boost to showoff or to sell it and make money.
People are less likely to cheat if they can’t show off their rank so easily. And people would be less likely to buy a rank if people can’t see it without searching.
The boosters you talked about, are doing so for commendations/armor, which is exactly the point. They are doing it for a visible reward, armor. They probably wouldn’t do it if you didn’t unlock anything/have anything to show.

You are getting that. You will receive a number, 1-50, that you will be leveling up. It will be visible on this exact website.

A game with no ranks and no unlockables. Just imagine, yawn. Selling 50’s, huh. I call that initiative.

That’s why the solution is to compromise. Have ranks, just not in-game in order to prevent bad behavior. But you can check your rank for your personal motivation and strive on here.
I’m happy playing hitman. If they put the ranks back in game with Halo5 then I shall return.

Bye.
Unless of course, a halo2 anniversary shows its head. Then halo 4 might last me another month. Depending on how good ‘Destiny’ turns out to be.
So… Can we just have ranks posted on our service cards?
That way it’s in game.
If you care enough you can view them.
And if you don’t care you don’t have to check or look around.
Personally, I think that this is the best compromise.

I agree.
Place it in service record but not in-game.
Noobs don’t cry unless they purposely pick on other people who will then check their records.
Cheaters have less incentive.
