No Incentives to Win

So I just finished an Oddball game that my team should’ve easily won but because no one cares… we lost 200-129.

I’m not even lying when I say this, we had one teammate just chilling on the opposite side of the map all game, and at one point I was carrying the ball in a room with another teammate. The rocket launcher was just laying on the floor, so of course I ping it. Surprise surprise no one picks it up, so I ping it another 8 times, still he doesn’t pick it up. What is wrong with people?

There is zero incentive to win anything in this game. Even in ranked youre rewarded much more for KD than win loss stats. It’s bonkers how they’ve set this up.

Don’t forget about the high ranked teammates who will put a few bullets in you so they can kill whoever your fighting and get above you in points over a win…

I can’t say much for ranked, but I don’t think the problem is no incentive to win, but too much incentive to focus on challenges. Really the incentive should just be to have fun.

Ironically, my challenge was to win two oddball games :upside_down_face:

Yep no incentives to win just to get challenges done.

I think they’ve stated that they’re working on going to a more performance based exp reward system in the future. What that will look like or when that will be, who knows?

Call of duty modern warfare gave props for objectives. Kudos to them. Halo has potential, if they could do something similar

I mean it seems to be more difficult to capture B than to find and enemy and throw a grenade at them. Only half the points though.

You nailed it. Thats the problem. If i know that i can preserve my rank without winning the match, just with ending the match with positive k/d, then i stop also to care about my teammates.
