In the past few weeks, I’ve been playing Halo 4 much less than usual.
I love how much the game has improved, and it continues to improve weekly.
But a few weeks ago, I hit a brick wall.
Every time I play Halo 4, I can’t seem to get excited in the slightest.
I want to be excited. I want to.
But I simply can’t.
Can anyone help me to get excited?
Maybe tell me why I’m not excited?
I want to enjoy Halo 4. I need help.
I’ve heard taking a break (maybe a week?) works wonders.
Honestly, it’s up to the developer to make the game exciting. If you are bored of Halo 4 to the point that you are taking to the forums to ask people how to have fun on the game, then perhaps it’s time to just stop playing it.
I know what it feels like to desperately want to love the game, simply because it is Halo and the thought of there being a main Halo title whose multiplayer you don’t enjoy is almost painful, but if you aren’t enjoying it then you aren’t enjoying it.
I would suggest having a break for a at least a couple of weeks, then coming back to the game and if you still don’t enjoy it, just stop playing.
Grab some friends, fool around in matchmaking and don’t play as tryhard… Try to have fun at least
I got so bored of Halo 4 that I barely even played the Champions bundle.
I started playing Don’t Starve and I found it to be a lot more entertaining, and I don’t even like that type of game (I’m an FPS player). Halo 4 definitely doesn’t draw me in like the older games did.
Go to your controller settings.
Select the Southpaw button layout.
Select the Southpaw stick layout.
Enabled Inverted Y-axes.
Put your look sensitivity on 10.
Disable auto-look centering.
Now go try to get some kills.
I suggest two things, either A. Stop gaming in general, for about 1-2 weeks. Do something else, don’t game AT ALL. Trust me it works. If you isolate yourself from everything (internet, TV, cellphone) for a week, trust me you will feel a lot better, and you will feel really excited once u get back to it. Even if you won’t isolate yourself from everything, just isolate yourself from gaming. Try just going on these forums for a week and coming back. I gaurentee it will help.
Or you could try B. Try doing different things in Halo 4. Try playing in playlists you don’t really play in, try hosting customs, just try new things. Try to get involved in the community, doing everything you can for the Halo Universe. Doing one of these 2 things are bound get you excited to play Halo again.
I suggest acquiring some friends that keep the game interesting! I find if I have the right group with me, we could get completely destroyed and it wouldn’t matter in the least, we laughed, we cried, we killed, we died. In the end we had fun and that’s what mattered.
I play race customs when I’m bored and it works so well
Try joining halocustoms.com and joining/hosting some lobbies.
Idk how people are bored with Halo 4, I literally play about every day, even if its only for an hour or a half hour.
Halo was my favorite since the beginning.
Maybe you should try a good clan? By good I mean fun clan, I gotta clan and we have the most fun just playing halo, and even other games together. We just sit in parties, BS around all day, and just have fun trying to win.
I have been taking a break too. I’m enjoying it slightly, it doesn’t seem very fun anymore.

The lack of social playlists is a big factor imo. If you haven’t played alot recently, or are simply trying out a new strategy there isn’t alot of options other than ‘just doing it’.

Choice A, for sure. I’ve had to do it. Makes me re-appreciate it and leads to fun again. I’d say I have to do this once every 4 months or so.
I feel the same way. Halo games are the only FPSs I like. I find my self going back and forth between H3 and Reach. H4 is sad story IMO. Every few days I play H4 and have a little fun but then it fades quickly.
Best thing to do is take a break from Halo 4. I dont know what kind of Halo player you are but try H3 MLG, Team Slayer, Social Slayer, Social Skirmish. I still find games pretty fast in these playlists, faster than H4. Also try Reach MLG v7, BTB, Super Slayer. Plus Reach and H4 have about the same population.
Fact is there are better Halo games out RIGHT NOW. Dont force yourself to be bored or frustrated, or both.
Halo is like, alcohol. Some here and there is all good and fun, but too much and you will be sick and not wanting it for a while.
I know the feeling, I have been playing Halo since the LAN nights with Halo CE… I haven’t touched Halo in over 2 months now… just something in it stopped being enjoyable for me, I would normally be excited for things like new DLC but… I dunno, it just doesn’t feel the same anymore
Play with friends, go for ‘yolo’ plays, multikills, trick shots in ricochet, juke people with thrusters, Go for Road Trips or Unfrigs, 50s…there are tons of things you can do to make the game fun, use your imagination.
I find it stale before I put the disc in.
Even Customs is getting tired
I’ve actually spent my entire summer busy. What sparked my interest was watching the global championship finals. Now I’m refreshed and ready to roll.
