Hey Guys. I’ve noticed I no longer hear any in game chat (either in lobby or in actual game) when playing. I’m wondering if I clicked a setting or something. Anyone have similar issues or idea of what might be going on?
It turns out everyone plays a team based, objective based game without talking anymore. I played eleven games the other night. Mixed modes and spoke to 2 people. TWO?!

People are sick of all the under aged, homophobic slanderers that spew as much racial slurs as they do blarring music to the point that many people just decide to join parties or chats.

Dude, I played eleven games and I didn’t hear a sound. No children. No racists. No blaring music. No homophobes. Just silence. Except for two occasions in Warzone where I ran into a friendly black American guy and a young English lad. We talked, killed, had fun. There is some audio spam, but it’s almost completely silent. Your complaints are anecdotal at best and just don’t stand up to analysis.
I get the most Mics in Team Doubles.
I usually would hear someone on the loading screen, but nothing during the matches.

Nobody has really answered my question here. I’m not asking for opinions on in game chat. I’m asking if there’s something not working with in game chat, or if there’s a possible Xbox setting I’ve activated that’s making it so I don’t hear any chat. Does anyone have anything helpful to say?

I personally think in-lobby-muting will increase in game chat overall. I think a lot of people have decided to not use their mics due to the inability to mute those aforementioned “under aged, homophobic slanderers that spew as much racial slurs as they do blarring music” in the lobby.
it happens in every gae on the Xbox one. IDK why people dont use their mics anymore. Especially in halo you would expect higher level to have mics.
I only use my mic when I am in a party of people I know. When I’m not, I “mute all” as soon as the game starts.
I have literally only encountered people using the mic for the proper purpose ONCE since I started playing. I did plug my mic in and join them and it was a good game.
However, I am tired of the blaring of crap music, hearing everyone’s in-room pointless conversation as they have their Kinect mic on, screaming kids, crap-talking prepubescent kids, racists, and homophobes.
Obviously You need to get together with me for a few games, little kids singing. quite often. along with talking about getting vehicles to ride around in I seem to find the noisiest team mates. it would be one thing if it were about coordinated attacks or some strategy but its not.
