I’m new to Halo and so I thought I would download the collection , I can see why it’s a great game , until I updated today and found I have no HUD in game or I can’t see the menu 
ive checked the setting but I can’t find a way to get the HUD back I’ve tried to reload the last check point and level but no luck
can anybody help me with this problem ? Or do I have to wait for this to be fixed with another update ?

Are you sure that the Blind skull is not activated? This will remove all elements of your HUD.
If you are seeing a black screen when resuming your saves, try switching the graphics. This should remedy the issue. If not, you may have to restart the level.

but when I press the menu button I don’t even get to see the menu , I don’t know of any other way to find out if Blind Skull is active
resuming saved levels works ok , it just that I can’t see the HUD or anything on the menu

Is this issue occurring in Custom Games or Multiplayer, as well as in Campaign? The Blind skull cannot apply to Multiplayer, so if you are still encountering this issue, I would hard reset the console (hold power button in for 10 seconds). Let me know if this helps!
