NO hitscan for the BR!

Look, 343, it didn’t work in Halo 2, it didn’t work in Halo: Reach, it WON’T work in Halo 4. Save us all some time and frustration and just make the BR ballistic. Please.

excuse me sir… but what is the term that is the opposite of hitscan?..

It did work in Halo 2 and it worked in Halo Reach. Hitscan is the way to go, especially if we are using P2P servers. Having Bullet Travel just leads to unregistered shots due to lag and gets really frustrating.

Just like how projectiles worked for Halo 3? Oh wait…

lol. it did work in Halo 2.

trololol

Hitscan will be better, shots won’t go unregistered, and it works best.

the issue in halo 2 was not the hit scan it was the ridiculous amounts of auto aim. and the issue in reach was not the hit scan or the auto aim it was just the sluggish movement.

If Halo 4 uses dedicated servers, projectiles would be terrific. But seeing as we’ll probably still be using these silly P2P networking schemes…

What are you talking about? Halo 2’-Yoink!- detection was a million times better than Halo 3’s (which had better networking code). It is necessary for XBL and reducing the off-host disadvantage.

Wut?

Is this a troll thread?

of course it should have hitscan.
if i shoot pinpoint at someones head and don’t get a kill im going to just get aggravated.

LMAO! Proof??? You can’t just make a statement like that without providing any proof, that’s like me saying the sun is blue, just because I said it doesn’t mean it’s true…

I don’t understand this.

With Halo’s netcode you just shoot what you aim at on your screen, even with hitscan it’s off due to lag but it registers as a hit because on your screen you are aiming at the enemy, but in real life a few miliseconds could mean your aiming is off.

If let’s say you aim the projectiles to hit the enemy on your screen, then it could register the same way.

Hitscan doesn’t get rid of lag, projectile bullets could work in P2P.

It works perfectly for Halo.

as much as i love bullet travelling, it sucks over the network and screws stuff up.

Someone never played Halo2…
It worked perfectly. And Weapons like the BR needing HitScan. Its better on a terrible host.

Looking forward to being able to toggle rapid fire onto the Battle Rifle.
