No Helmet Variants?

Based on the PAX video showing all helmets, armour and shoulders based on the current build, there are no helmet variants to add onto the helmets.

Does anybody else dislike this?

I know it’s not the final build, but I liked the small extra customisation to the helmets.

(Sorry if my grammar is bad, I’m tired.)

I dislike this, but it’s not a big deal. I would prefer FOTUS without the ridiculously stupid looking horn though. What I really do not like is the fact that weapon and armour skins are listed as individual weapons/armours, rather than being variants, which clutters the lists.

I’m surprised by the lack of variants of helmets like with Reach. It seems that if you specialise into certain branches that some variants would be quite appropriate.

Despite there being a lot of helmets, don’t forget that this isn’t the fully final build of the game and is still just a demo. You can expect at least a few more helmets come release. Wheather they will be revealed before November 6 is still a matter of question.

Now, instead of attachments, we have two varients of each helmet: one that is default with little/no patterns on it, and one with the skin patterns on it.

I don’t get why that’s such a big deal. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. Just like Reach. How does it diminish the overall aesthetic experience (which this is, in the end, all about). Because you have to take five seconds to flip through the ones you don’t like?

If you didn’t notice in the video there were multiples of the same named helmet. These secondary helmets have slightly raised or lowered sections of them to either roughen up the appearance or smooth it out. Essentially they are your variants and personally I like them more than attaching an annoying cube or brick to the outside of my helmet but I did like the ability to put the eod mutton chops on other helmets and the UA pieces.

honestly i wish the skins worked across all armor because i enjoy the variants and stuff in reach. im not too sure how im going to feel about this but ill have to deal with it no matter what. hopefully the overhaul and crazy new armor will make up for it.

It is more than just skins they actually change the surface of the helmet giving it new shape but holding to the original concept. Reach really didn’t have a bad approach to it though accept the fact that you couldn’t see if the final stage of the helmet was any good until you put credits into it.

They can’t show all the goodies now can they

When in my post did I say I diddn’t like them?

IMO I never really cared for them. Seemed like gimmicky little cameras and such. Only on certain helmets did I like any of them, but overall, I wont miss them

yea i really hope they change the whole skin dilemma. i want Raptor skin on my FOTUS armor=)

I always found the Helmet Variant’s of Reach sorta useless. If they added something like increased radar or jamming Radar or something of use I could see the point of it all. But I really don’t care if they show up in Halo 4 if it’s just going to be digital hoops to jump through to make Spartan Points relevant.

Reach’s was very limited. and if it actually had a point that would be pretty cool.
