I’ve played and owned every single HALO game since the original so I’m open to some nostalgia. Whilst I’m pleased to see helmets from HALO 3 etc in HALO 5, there’s a massive fault with the new Classic Helmet REQ pack, where is the Hayabusa helmet?
Please correct me if I’m missing something here…

Hayabusa is owned by Ninja something (Someone correct me, I don’t know). 343 would have to have permission to make it since it’s owned by the company that created it.

The design of Hayabusa is based off of Ryu Hayabusa’s outfit from the Ninja Gaiden franchise, owned by Team Ninja, so you got the Ninja bit right.
343 can’t add it unless they negotiate a deal with Team Ninja, or want to face the possibility of legal repercussions.

Hayabusa can’t use it it’s copyrighted. Bungie partnered with (Ninja Gaiden I believe?). So yeah it literally will never happen.

It’s a shame, I never played H3 but I’ve seen and it looks pretty cool

They can’t just slightly redesign it, and make it their own armor? I mean its in the lore of Halo, surely if they wanted the could modify it to look slightly different from the Halo 3 variant.

I dunno, maybe. They might be able to get away with it, but it depends on how Team Ninja is feeling. If they’re feeling trigger-happy on their legal side, 343 probably won’t be able to without almost entirely redesigning it. And Team Ninja could probably sue them. I mean, Harmony Gold sued Hasbro because this G.I. Joe Skystriker colored to look like the G1 Jetfire toy looked vaguely similar to the VF-1A/D/J/S, VEFR-1, VE-1, and VT-1 from Super Dimension Fortress Macross ( which was adapted into Robotech by Harmony Gold). The lawsuit was dismissed, but if Harmony Gold can sue for that, Team Ninja could probably do something similar.

Same here, but back in the day when I was a little kid I thought it was cool. But the thing about it not fitting doesn’t really work anymore… just look at Helioskrill… you have a literal shovel on your head while cosplaying a race that almost lead humanity to extinction.
It doesnt fit well in even Halo 3 just due to white and it wouldn’t fit with Halo 5’s style. But I do like how they semi-honored it with the Shinobi set.
That’s not a massive fault. That’s a huge relief. Hayabusa was hands-down the most overused helmet in Halo 3, and I will be glad if it never comes back. Besides, with it’s anime-ish design, it looks all too similar to the other freakish alien armors they gave us in Halo 5, and I think I speak for everyone when I say I’ve seen enough of that crap.

Hayabusa busy was bungie’s thanks to the creators of ninja gaiden.
For including a halo spartan into dead or alive 4.
Team ninja owns the name and image of Ryu hayabusa.
