It’s that time of year again and PAX West is hitting Seattle in a few weeks. However, there’s no Halo on the menu.
Considering it’s in their back yard, why wouldn’t the folks at 343 cobble together a discussion panel on H5 or HW2?
I see the organizers are running a console tournament, but they’re featuring Reach and H2.
Not the end of the world, but I find it a little strange.

If I were there, I’d rather play an H2 tourney over H5.

I’m sorry but Halo Reach was not a well Designed Halo game. Armor lock, poor MP maps, crap netcode, bloom, and the horrible motion blur. Seriously that game was poorly built and optimized.

The game played poor performance wise simply due to Bungie overloading the game with things simply unsuitable for the aged 360 hardware, which is why in most cases Reach looks even better than H5.

I love Reach’s MP maps, moreso than Halo 5’s that’s for sure, anyone who whines about armor lockers clearly aren’t smart enough to deal with them, it’s really quite simple, they go into armor lock, you wait for it to time out, then when it does, blow their face off with a shotgun or rocket launcher.

That doesn’t excuse the mechanic. AL was one of the worst things that happened, besides the other AA’s and bloom.

Likely they just don’t have the time to attend. There’s a quite a few conventions each year and sometimes they have to say no to a couple, I think Gamescom was missed last year because of this so they made the effort to go this year.

I’m fine with a Halo game being competitive, but when it’s ONLY competitive that’s where I have a problem, and that’s why I can’t stand Halo 5.

Halo Reach nearly did away with real competitive and Halo 4 was strictly social. I agree Halo 5 needs a more social balance like Halo 3. It may just be because I’ve been playing since Halo CE came out when I was 8 but I’m much more a fan of competitive vs social.

I prefer an even balance between the two cause that’s what Halo did best.

Reach had a decent level of competitive play, as did 4, you just had to find the right modes.

No modes were right to me. Add that with armor abilities and you had enough to keep me away from those games forever.
